Don't feel too bad...they're really not all they're cracked up to be. Lately I haven't found much of anything I want at the chain stores. It seems their buyers aren't really in touch. I do WAY more damage online.
*lol* yeah, i guess it probably is a blessing in disguise ;)

I got my Xyron 250 there the other day with a %50 off coupon. I must also admit I was very shocked to see one there. Now that I've got the online coupon(s) I'm going back for extra adhesive and maybe the smaller one, so far I've only printed 2 of the coupns.
I also noticed they changed the wording on the Provocraft items to clarify it to Cricut items. Possibly they are slowly but surely getting a clue????

I have been speaking with some of the employees and they said that Corporate is making alot of changes in the stores. The one i shop is cleaning up, remodeling, moving isle and making their store real nice.
Michael's has been solely a tool and ribbon destination for me. Their paper selection this year is so blah. I love it in 2006 - they had the wild asparagus line! The buyers do seem to out of touch a little.

I'm pretty sure I saw Wild Asparagus at HL.
Personally - I'm not that impressed with Michael's prices - but at 50% off - now I can shop.
Could someone forward the email coupon to me. I am in Quebec Canada and we are not allowed to sign up to their email newsletters. even if I am about 5 miles from Ontario where there is a Michaels. I would like to purchase a cuttlebug to my mother for her birthdate
Okay, I hate to complain, but I just want to see if I am totally missing something. Today at lunch, I printed off my 50% coupon that I received by email. I take it to Michaels and I am standing in line to check out. I get to the register and proudly present my 50% coupon only to be told that Michaels does not accept coupons that are printed off of the computer. Now, I ask you. How can you ever use a coupon that you receive via email if you don't "print" it out. Just a little afternoon rant. Thanks for listening ladies.

I think it's a case of the left hand not letting the right hand know what's going on. I would have asked for a manager, and if that did not work, then I would have him call their marketing/advertising to get a resolution. Sometimes a girl has to do what she has to do. KWIM

I almost have a similar situation happen to me at Michaels, but the cashier was smart to know that this was a "Micheal's" computer printed coupon, not "Joann" computer printed coupon. The cashier looked at the coupon and said, "It is a Michael's coupon, I don't know why we wouldn't accept our own coupon. We don't accept Joann's computer printed coupon."
It would be SILLY if they don't take their own coupons.
Michaels is a ridiculous organization sometimes LOL. If you can't use an internet coupon, why do they even send them out???
I used mine today. Nothing I really wanted ... so I just bought some refill blades for my Fiskars cutter. And, who's to prevent us from printing this puppy out every day until Saturday? It just says one coupon, per customer, per day. LOL. I might print another and go buy some sticky strip tomorrow.
They did have some fun ribbon, too. In one of the teaser emails I've received about the new in-colors, this roll of ribbon matches 5 of the six colors!! Whoa! White grosgrain style (about 1/3") with tiny single row of dots in the colors.
Simmy :-)

Thank you ladies for sharing my pain. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me losing my mind. I was so close to throwing a tantrum and asking for the manager, but I think the sales girl could see that I was at the end of my rope and in the end she agreed to let me sign a form and get the discount without using the coupon she could not accept. I must admit that I am a lawyer by day and a stamper by night, so I had to hold back to urge to give her my sermon on deceptive advertising. I am just grateful to have you fine ladies to share my experiences with!!!!
Almost happened to me tonight...got the same coupon in an e-mail..but it did have dates on it and was good till Saturday. I ended up getting an alphabet die cut set for my cuttlebug. Saved me $40 on that stinkin' set. I won't pay $80 but I'd pay $40. I was glad to have my coupon and the girl started to say the same thing "Oh, we don't accept computer coupons"....and then got to looking at it closer and realized that it was GOOD...it said "in store only' right on it with their name, the good till date, etc.....so she took it. YIPPY!

Glad you got your discount. I had no problem using mine. (I like my local M's employees, the ladies are super nice) I got my cuddlebug this morning and walked out with a huge smile on my face, the cashier even said" WoW that's makes it 40 bucks". Yeah, i said with my big smile
Im not an attorney, just work for 2 and sometimes I hold back too. I comes from working 10+ years with these guys.
I had this problem with my local Michaels. They wouldnt except it. I told the cashier she needs to call the manager because, why are they sending these to peoples emails if we cant use them...go figure. I really didnt see anything I really needed at Michaels anyhow. I just wanted those MS bird stamps.
You are right about the Michaels. I think they are slower getting boring to shop there..cost alittle more in there things too.

Used mine 2 days ago. The cashier questioned it and acted like she wasn't going to take it and asked me TWICE how I got it. I told her that if this company was going to email the coupons to their customers, they better well accept them. She still stopped to ask a manager who seemed to know all about them and said "of course we take those". THANK YOU!! Funny thing was I had information on my receipt to do a survey which I promptly did when I got home and left the comment that they really needed to start informing the store employees of these emails as I did not appreciate being hassled for using a Michaels coupon at a MICHAELS store!! I have a Mikes and a HobbyLobby within a mile of each other yet fine myself driving the 35 minutes to Archivers to find what I really want!
Hey ladies I thought I would share a little bit of Michael's new...the sale ad for 4/6 thru 4/12 is going to be HUGE!! It is around 12 pages and almost the entire store will be on sale...Cricut cartridges will be going for $39.99 (reg $89.99) and the Cricut Expression will be going for about $315.00 instead of the regular price of $399.00. There will also be a 40% coupon listed and I heard that the cashiers will be handing out a 50% coupon that will be good for the following week when we don't have a sale ad. The stores are also suppost to have ads in the store that you can get if you ask, there is no limit to the number of coupons you can bring at one time, however you can not combine Michaels with Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's in the same transaction. Michael's will take computer coupons from Michaels, but not Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's - those must be originals. You will have to sign a coupon log and put your zip - if your cashier says you can't ask for the manager, this is corporate policy, not just our store's policy.
