I don't know if you've ever tried using gilding flakes or gold leaf, but I spent a rainy day messing about with them and came up with three cards. I put one of them in the January 2015 CCC as it has a star theme, and here are the other two:

Let me know if you've ever used gilding flakes or gold leaf - I'm not sure it's worth the time and the mess!
