Hi, it is Shirley, AKA wannabcre8tive, posting the F4A challenge today.

The challenge theme this week is "The Kentucky Derby". Since the 2018 Kentucky Derby is just two days away, I thought this would be the perfect challenge. Make a card that represents something from the Kentucky Derby. It could be a horse, Derby hats, trophies, ribbons, a jockey, etc..

What a fun challenge, Shirley!! I was intrigued by "derby hats," so I did a little investigating to see what that was all about. WOW! How fun is this! I found women really dress up with fabulous, huge, old-fashioned hats that were worn in 1875 when the derby first opened. If you were attending the derby, it was important you dress appropriately according to British and European racing fashion code. I found two lovely samples of these hats with beautiful yellow blooms...my daffodils would be fabulous on a Derby hat!
