I like the idea and intention of this thread. I also agree that things go in spurts for a variety of reasons. And, the other PIF threads, confuse things (those threads are fun but are different although the titles are similar) and might cause new-to-the-thread folks to hesitate.
Also, I occasionally see posts by other SCS members asking "does anyone want (fill in the blank) so that might be a way for those on this thread to offer things to new homes. Perhaps giving away (Paying it Forward) doesn't need a thread?
So, if it continues, I'll make offers when I can. And if it doesn't, I'll make a new (short-term) thread when I have something (free) to offer.
First....I'm sincerely sorry if I have offended anyone with my friendly "Chit-Chat" and "Banter". That was not my intent.
Second... I would like to see this thread stay as it is. I do NOT partake in the other pif threads where you have to list up a bunch of stuff in a certain price range just to be able to claim something someone else has to offer. I tried that once a long time ago and it seemed that those threads get "stalled" quite a bit before things get claimed. In addition, it's kinda confusing to know who is "up" for what. Just my opinion.
Third.... I agree with some of the others regarding certain times of the year where things get slower on this thread. Holidays and the month or so afterwards is tough on everyone. The other time of the year that comes to mind is the middle of summer when many folks are on vacation/holiday.
Fourth... If anyone that uses this thread sees a post somewhere else on SCS where a member is offering up something for free, why not share the link to this page with them? Perhaps they don't know about this thread. I know I have been a member of SCS for a few years now and I KNOW there are many areas of this group that I have yet to discover.
I am (and have been) working hard on trying to get my personal crafting hoard.....Opps, I mean stash, cleaned up and organized. So, I know I will have things to offer here on this thread. Personally for me, $$$ is tight. I live on disability and alimony payments.... when my ex-husband elects to pay it. Bills always come first before fun stuff like paying to de-stash my purge.
So, just because things have been a little bit slow lately, doesn't mean it will stay that way for very long. Spring is right around the corner and that's the time when many people do their de-cluttering and may have a little extra $$ from tax returns to afford postage on a few Pay-It-Forward de- stash packages.
I would like this thread to stay active as it is. It's actually nice to come here and see the friendly chatter, IMO. Although, I don't get things nor offer things very often, I like this thread. I need to get better about offering stuff instead of just letting it sit here doing nothing...so, I vote for let it as is.
Well, since I haven't heard back from Admin., I guess the thread is staying as is. I will be starting another thread for anyone who is interested in PIFs only. I didn't mean to offend or chastise anyone. I just wanted to preserve the original purpose of this thread. Be well, and be happy.
I have question for you? We have three other PIF. In another place one 5-10 thread and one is the 10 thread and one is 15 thread. Are not a were of those? how would your PIf thread be any different than the rest of these? I can show you the links if you would like? I just wondering I am not trying step on any ones toes here! thanks hotwheels
Because PIF is not about making sure the thing you are PIFing is any of those $ values or having to be the "next one up" to offer simply because you had chosen something from someone else. It's about realizing that when you do accept someone's PIF, that at some point in the future, if you do have something to offer, to please do so.
The other threads tend to have rules that you have to offer within X amount of time and keeping adding to your list of offers until someone takes something. It's a much more rule driven thread.
I think part of what Jeanette is saying and I agree (Jeanette, correct me if I'm wrong) is that the other "talk" gets a bit distracting away from the main purpose of this PIF thread. I don't think it is "offensive"--just distracting.

I can understand the chatter being distracting, but for the chance to claim free things that we otherwise might not be able to get? I'm willing to go treasure hunting through the posts! (I almost always read them all anyway.)
And the other PIF threads are actually swaps, and must be posted in that forum, because they are not Pay It Forward- they require you to immediately step up & offer. That's why I like this thread. It's WAY easier, it's truly a give-away.
Personally I like this thread the way it is. Not To be mean or rude though I know some is going to find it to be. If the chit chat and bantering is bothersome look away LOL I tried to say it nicely. but when there is nothing that is being offered up isn't it nice to just share friendships and love other then material things ,if there isn't any for the time being? i'm sure when everyone here with the beautiful hearts have offers it will come we all know how expensive this hobby is and everyone appreciates the sharing . this is a awesome thread and mahalo for creating it Ms Jeanette.
Aloha to all the crafting sisters of SCS Ohana!
I do like the idea of the PIF. It has allowed me to receive items I would not have been able to have. Also, I have sent off a few items as well. Thanks for doing this forum Jeannette!
Hello. I am a relatively new stamper and would like to follow this thread. Though I am afraid I don't have stamps or dies to send forward at this point. But I can send stamped images or similar stuff whenever someone makes a wish for the same(if I have those). Am I eligible for this thread? Thanks!
You are absolutely eligible for this thread. Welcome!
There is no specific requirement other than to offer something you no longer need--images, for example, WHEN you have them (or something) else available to give. Nobody needs to make a wish beforehand.
When you have something, post your offer. If someone is interested in what you have to offer, they will post a response and/or send a PM (personal message) and send you their mailing address, and you mail it to them. Sender pays postage.

I am so happy I found this thread.
When I first started stamping my dh would
get on ebay and find lots of stamps and just buy
them. Then I would put the ones I really didn't think I
would use into a box, hoping that I could pass them on.
Now to find that box ☺

Thank you so much! You covered all my questions. Excited to be here
Aastha, you may also want to click on the link in post #181 and subscribe to that link as well.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with this site, but to subscribe, you just click on "Thread Tools" and then click the button to "subscribe." You then get asked to confirm if that's what you want to do.

Thanks Brenda! I didn't know that either. I thought you need to post a comment to subscribe and that stopped me from following threads so many times before.
can't wait to see what you have up for grabs And welcome my friend! hotwheels

Now that it is March, and the original poster is no longer continuing with the PIF threads she started, are we allowed to go back to posting and chatting here, or do I need to start us a new PIF thread? Opinions? Comments? Insults &/or off color jokes??? (sorry- weird sense of humor- and I even have a STAMP that says so!)
