I bought a sizzix and i plan to take it back and get this one. get on their website and have them send you a catty. I just got one the other day and it's awesome with lots of great ideas and projects. Have fun with this.
dromm: I've been considering this one. Would really like some feed back from someone before I purchased. Let us all know, OK? I have arthritis and the beginning of carpal in my right hand and I'd need something that didn't require a lot of pressure on my part. Did he order it online? Where?
I have the QuicKutz...but I want to get the Zip E Mate. I got to use it at a LSS demo...it was easy to use and light!
Plus, it's awesome that you can use any makers dies in it... Sissix, QuicKutz, etc. My QuicKutz only cuts tiny dies...but with the Zip E Mate you can cut any size you want!
I would recommend checking out the QuicKutz dies...they're SO cute!! And their alphabets are awesome too! Try paperdreamsstore.com ... they carry all the dies and have examples of them all.

Candace,
Thanks for the paperdreams info. Great site!
Gmax,
My husband bought it from a LSS but check out Candace's suggestion www.paperdreamsstore.com for pricing.
Technically, the Zip'e isn't mine until Christmas but it looks very easy to use. I had carpal tunnel with my pregnancy so I know your pain. I will report in once I am able to play with it.
How are you able to stamp with both arthritis and CT?
I don't have a die cut system at all, but I've heard that the Wizard (www.spellbinders.us) can use more dies and embossing stencils from other manufacturers than the ZipeMate because the Wizard doesn't have that shield/cover thing on it. I have seen the Wizard demo'd, and it's impressive. I also saw the ZipeMate, but it wasn't demo'd. Check out Spellbinders' web site and see what you think.
I have the wizard which I have found very easy to use. Depending on the die company, you make various "sandwiches" and then press the lever up and down until the design is cut or embossed. I have never seen the zip e in person so I don't know which one is more compant.

I have a Sizzix and a Quickutz and I have seen a Zip E Mate in action and its great. I asked my DH for one for Christmas. You can use any of the Dies in it I think you might need to get different blocks tho. And you can use any Embossing template. and you don't have to push till you break your arm like you do with the QK. ewww can't wait till Christmas... Oh btw here is a great website to order templates from for it....
OK, I just took a look at the stuff on the AccuCut website...call me crazy, but why in the world would I buy one set of alphabet UPPER CASE ONLY dies for $700?????? That seems insane to me!!
Gretchen,
I have to agree with you $700 doesn't seem very ecomical for a personal die cutting system!
Fortunately, I didn't see the alphabet set you are referring to, but I did see a lot of really cute die cut shapes for less than $5.00.
The die cut machines look very nice, and are much more economical on the Accucut website, around $120-150 or so. But I looked at the alphabets (since that's what I use my Sizzix for mostly), and, I swear, the three I looked at were between $500 and $700 for just the set of upper case. I just about choked!!
I've been researching the Zip 'eMate for a while now and pricing everywhere (of course!). I got the name of the site www.cutathome.com from a message board. They sell for retail price, but when you sign up for their VIP membership (free) they send you a monthly 40% off coupon via e-mail! I just signed up yesterday and got my first 40% off coupon (code to order online) in my e-mailbox yesterday, too! That makes it about $80 before shipping!! They also sell all of the zip 'ecuts, zip 'eslims, etc. including alphabets. With a monthly 40% off coupon you can build your die-cut collection without having to shell out all of your cash at once (even if you want to!) I haven't ordered mine yet, but my birthday is on Saturday and you can bet where my birthday money is going!!! Bring on the Zip 'eMate!!
i think i just saw this today at michael's. wasn't looking for it, just browsing while a friend paid for her stuff. so don't hold me to it, but i do think they sell it.
DH got me a Zip E Mate for Christmas - Also a couple of the sizzlets alphabets which work on it. Also some QK dies which work on it along with the Zip E mate dies. I have also used my embossing templates on it and so far everything I have tried has worked absolutely great. And no hurting my wrist using my QK anymore.
