Hmmm, storage? Mine tend to lay out on my worktable ready to be used. It probably scratches them, but when not in use, I will stack them in a pile. I'm not really concerned with how they look as long as they do the job. Every now and then, I wash them all with soap and water and thourghly dry with a soft towel.
l store mine in a binder, l put them into the 9x9 card holder files that you can buy at the dollar store..l stamped them onto card stock and it makes it easyer to see..
When I had just a few, a small wire/mesh letter organizer worked well. Now I keep them in an acrylic makeup organizer that has stepped levels...looks a bit like bleacher seating, but with boxes of varying sizes.
I have an iris cart on wheels that fits under my stamping table. The top drawer is for my acrylic blocks. I have a plastic basket in the drawer to keep the smaller blocks together, the bigger ones are just loose in the drawer.

I wouldn't like the binder, because I would have to keep getting it out every time I needed to use a block.
Mine are in a small drawer in the cabinets under my main stamping counter. I also have a set I keep in my crop bag because they were one of my most forgotten items. And a bit important when trying to stamp with unmounted stamps, LOL~
I have two Iris carts under one of my desks and I lined 2 of the drawers with the foam web shelf liner and my acrylic blocks (about 30) lie in these drawers...

I just toss them into one of the drawers of my sterilite 3 drawer container. If I'm going to a crop, I'll use one of the sections of my Snap Lock unit and then they stay there for several weeks. Lol.

I story mine in a plastic storage box purchased from JoAnns. It has a handle on the top and will fasten to other boxes. They are easier to take when doing classes, etc.

A while back, small lunch boxes that you could decorate were all the rage. I had made one and finally put it to a good use by storing all my blocks in there. Looks really nice on my stamping table and is being useful at the same time.
I have a neat little case that was made for them but...I stack them beside my table I work at. It's so much easier to have them handy. It has scratched them but oh well such is life.
I store mine in a one dollar plastic pencil box I got at Office Max. I keep them in there and when I go some place to stamp I close the lid and bring them al with me. I love this little box. I also found a metal one in the clearance spot at Office max that locks so I guess I have both and they pack in my rolling cart oh so neatly. Just my two cents.
I have a small file cabinet from WalMart under my stamping table. The top drawer is not very deep. My blocks are stored in one of those cheap plastic baskets that you see everywhere in that shallow drawer. That way I can reach them easily, and they're not a part of the clutter on my work surface.
I found a rectangular drawer/box thingy in a charity shop. It's sturdy, suedette with a satin like lining and has a pull out drawer. It contained posh toiletries originally. It's the perfect size for my acrylic blocks. I have a shelf above my desk and it sits atop the shelf so my blocks are always within easy reach. I paid less than a pound for it so it was a complete bargain and it is absolutely perfect!
I, too, have a basket on my desk...one of those really cheap plastic baskets from walmart...because I have a bunch of others that hold other stuff too...
I used to keep them in a box that had once housed golf balls. However, I kept leaving them at crops and such. I even had one break when someone dropped it onto cement floor at an Expo (never buy blocks with sharp edges - I learned they are more frail). Finally I broke down and bought Stampin' Up! Clear Block Storage. It was made for SU blocks, but I have some from other companies in there, too.
I have the case for hauling mine around to camps, crops and workshops, but I keep my extras in a felt lined plastic basket in a drawer stack next to my desk. And by that, I mean I laid a piece of felt in a plastic organizing basket. I use the drawer stack for all of the stuff that I need handy for general stamping. I have one drawer that is just adhesives, one that is tools, sponges, scissors. One drawer has those loose embellishments that I use a lot, but don't store in a caddy. That keeps all of this stuff off my main workspace, but still at my fingertips.
Someone gave my daughter a pretty oblong metal tin as a little gift and her set of Stampin up acrylic blocks fits in it perfectly... I suppose the tin was a fairly common size but don't know for sure.
