Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
About 30 of you attend the last MN gathering in November in Apple Valley. We had a fun time stamping...but we all agree we needed more time to socialize. So, many of you have requested another gathering. Now that the holidays are past I was going to start planning gathering #2!!
What month seems to work better, March or April?
For simplicity purposes I'm gonna host it at the Apple Valley Community Center again...only this time we'll have 6 hours instead of 4! That'll give us time to Shoebox swap but also time to chit-chat!!!
In the future we can host the gathering somewhere else....perhaps in the western suburbs....that way its less of a drive for those in St.CLoud...Brainerd...ect.
Any other suggestions?
Can't wait to meet up with you all again! I hope we pick up some New guests the second time around. I'll keep you all posted once the details are in place.

Count me SOOOOOOOOO in! Can't wait! I'll be out of town the 1st week in March, but other than that, can make any other weekend work! Thanks for planning this again, Paris!
anyway - I've got a few PM's from MN gals who were not at gathering #1 and want to know what it all involved.... Here is some quick info about our last gathering!
1. fee is $10: this covers the cost of food, beverage, room fee, and Stampin Up door prizes. We gave away over $150 in Stampin Up door prizes.
2. Activities involved: Card Contest, door prizes, sharing display boards and scrapbooks, donating cards to the troops, and a ShoeBox swap. A Shoebox swap is a swap where you bring the supplies to make your swap (kinda like a make&take at a workshop). You get put into a group of 20 or so, the other 19 members in your group make your swap and you get to make the other 19 swaps!! IT'S ALOT OF FUN and a GREAT WAY TO STAMP AND SWAP at the SAME TIME!!!
4. We also gave away Homemade stamped items as door prizes. Most attendees made some cute stuff to donate as a prize and than we gave it away. I think almost everyone walked away with a prize!
5. You can see pictures in the gallary of our last gathering. Go to Special Collections, than Stampin' Events, than "A Time To SHare" MN gathering.
Sounds like Mid-April works best. No date is set yet. I'll keep the SCS home page updated under EVENTS!
I'm gonna get in touch with the same committee memebers...if they agree to help out again I may not need any help. Once again, I'll keep you posted.
Count me in!!! I would be happy to be your Assistant Hostess again. April probably works best. It would be hard to beat the price of the room at the Apple Valley Center but maybe next time we can do a little research for future gatherings.
Thanks for being on the ball Paris!!!

I'll call the AV center tomorrow. I'll try for mid april!
After hours Karoke sounds fun to me!
Heck...we could start our own version of American Idol...SCS Style!!
he he ha ha....how funny would that be.
OOOHHH how fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
Yeah, I'm so excited to see another Minnesota gathering. I will be moving to St. Cloud in January from New York, so am really looking forward to meeting new stamping friends. Keep me posted!
Count me in. I missed it last time but was envious when I heard about how much fun you guys all had.
Also, I have quarterly retreats in Farmington (just a little further south of AV) and would be willing to work out the details for a SCS weekend if anyone is interested.
Yippeeeeeeeeee. Count me in too! Even if I have to figure out how to drive down there, I'm coming again.
April sounds good, but I don't know about the Karoke. But I do like the idea of more time. I missed out on some of the chit-chat last time...and I'm a big chit-chatter, I don't want to miss anything this time around.
You've got me so excited already!

Robin, a SCS weekend sounds great! We were talking about doing a weekend gathering at our last one. We hadn't thought of any of the logistics of that. We should definitely chat about the weekend get together!

Count me in, I'd love to be on the committee again . April is better than March, and the AVC was a perfect place. Looking forward to this once again! I agree with Kathleen & Robin, a SCS weekend would be a blast!
Keep me posted!

I want to do this too!! Sounds like alot of fun...
LeAne, if you come through Hinckley (or near here) maybe we could ride together. I can fit 8 in the Suburban we could fill it with a group from the north! Let me know...
I am new to SplitCoast, but I am an SU demo. and live in Apple Valley! (Actually Lakeville, but it is in the H's, so I consider it AV) I would love to come. I would prefer April.. like the 16th or 23rd. I am a CPA and work 70+ hours a week in March and the begining of April, so it can be hard to get away on the weekends... but I will try if it has to be in March.
SHAME ON ME!!!
I was gonna call the AV community center today but time got the best of me. And I didn't even spend my time stamping...AAHHH,
Anyway - I'll call them tomorrow.
PS To those of you who need a little hint on the RUDOLF joke.... Territweety not only collects tweety bird, she also collects Rudolf items!
SHE's an addict!! he he ha ha
OOOHHH i'm sooo thrilled to have so many stampers interested in another gathering. Lets shoot for a goal of 40 attendees. That's 10 more than last time!! I think we can do it!!!! Guess that mean MORE Door prizes!!

okay - these are the TENATIVE details....
The Apple Valley community Center doubled their room rental fee so me and the other committee members are weighing our options!!
I have it TENATIVELY reserved for Saturday April 16th 1:00-7:00.
BUT DO NOT SET THAT IN STONE YET! I will give a full update within the next 2 weeks!!!!
I REPEAT....THIS IS NOT SET IN STONE!
Last time we had 30 attendees....think we can get 40?
I am a demo in MN and I would love to come down and visit with you gals...however, i am not sure if this is open to all demos in MN or just one upline/downline group...let me know cuz i would love to join you.
-Saturday, April 16th. 1:00 pm to 7:00pm
-at the Apple Valley Community Center (same as before)
-The fee has been raised to $12 (because the AV center doubled the room rental rate).
In 2-3 days I will post the FULL DETAILS and the REGISTRATION FORM on the SCS home page under EVENTS and also under GENERAL DISCUSSION. I'll add it here too!
This time we've added an additional activity. We will have 5 or so Splitcoaststampers demonstrate a new or unique stampin' technique during the event!! OOHH how fun!!!!
I also hope to get more attendees so we can get more DOOR PRIZES!!
