HELP! Could someone please tell me what the trick is to using the brayer. I am getting those white streaks in between the colors from the spectrum pad. I just cannot get the colors to blend nicely.
Thanks
Dorothy
As you roll back and forth, move the brayer a little to the left and a little to the right to get the colors well blended. Also are you using glossy cardstock? It is hard to blend the colors on regular matte CS.
I do not use my brayer much because I do not like the appearance of the cardstock where I stop and start brayering. I start off the edge of the paper, but when it rolls around one complete turn, the ink is lighter and there is a line that you can see. How do those of you who are good at this make your brayer cover a large area without all of those lines? Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer.
I am so glad you asked this question. I thought it was just me having this problem. I will anxiously awaiting some advice from the pros here on SCS! TIA
I brought out my brayer AGAIN last week and I STILL cannot master it either. My friend Amy that I stamp with suggested it might be the paper i was using so gave me the StampinUp cardstock - it was better than the Hobby Lobby brand I had been using, but still left one line and a white area? Any suggestions?

Your brayer may be defective.. I would take it back to where you purchased it, and ask them to check it out. Possibly they will exchange it for you. My local store is more than williing to do this when a product is defective... and your's may be too. It is worth a try anyway... and would save a lot of frustration... it may not be anything *you* are doing wrong. Please don't give up as the brayer is a wonderful tool.. when it works correctly

Do you have the spectrum pad colors open(separated ) or closed (together)? if they are separated this is great for storing them so the ink doesn't get muddy but not good for using the brayer. They should be closed for this and I never get white streaks. Hope this helps.
When storing your brayer, do not lay it flat. It creates a "flat" side which will cause this white streak. Store it upright with the handle down. Hope this helps.l

I'm also glad this question was brought up cause i HATE my brayer too. What i can't figure is a) the lines, even though i've done all the suggestions; and b) repeated image. Say i use a tree stamp in versamark, then use the spectrum pad to go over it, the brayer picks it up(the versamarked tree) so i have more background trees. It's butt ugly and i get so frustrated. I feel like drop-kicking the da*n thing across the house! What is the trick???? :(
