Default Cards from scraps!!!

I just spent a few hours organizing my stamp space....and finding lots of scraps! I keep all of them in a big bag withe extra stamped images. When i got done organizing i decided that I would make all the cards that I could just using my scraps. It was so much fun and I got about 20 cards. Some are totally finish and other are just waiting for a greeting or saying to be added. I am going to try do this every few months.

That is a great idea...have you checked the challenge for the Limited Supplies from Friday. It was to use a piece of scrap with the measurements being 4 x 1/2. They actually called is scrapling.

Loved your photo! I am very impressed. Question about the cards (one was halloween) that looked like they had a handle on them. How'd you do that? Must be a die...?

Wonderful job on those cards! The last several months, I've been using up my scraps and finishing my half done cards, too. It's wonderful to get the craft space cleaned up and cleaned out of scraps. Saves money on cardstock, too. Feels great to finish what I started and not throw stuff away that could be used. Thanks for encouraging all of us to do that. TFS

I'm challenging myself every Sunday morning. I choose some scraps and make a few cards with them.

I love all the ideas for using up the bits that we have. I store all of my CS in multi page page protectors and put every scap I have in with the color of CS it came from. This way, I always go to the smallest usable piece for my project first. I am such a recycler that it pains me to cut into a whole piece of CS for a small bit that is needed. I have yet to try a punched square or circle card - must do that today!

I just went to Stampingmathilda's blog. WOW. I could have spent all night leaving comments. Everything is terrific. I use a lot of scraps on my cards, but your art is way better.

Ronni, great idea. I sort thru my scraps every month or so. I sort some by size, especially if they are punched flowers, bunnies, etc. Then I sort some by color. CS and paper are kept separate. Then I always look in my scraps first when making a card. I also have a friend who lets me go through her scrap stack every so often. I organize it a little for her, and I get to keep the smaller pieces and one-of-a kind pieces. StampingMathilda, your blog has some great ideas for using scraps. Thanks for sharing.

I was just throwing my scraps in a box, and that got full, so I started another box and that got full. This thread inspired me to sort my scraps by color! I did it! Now I need to make some cards from just scraps! I need ideas! I like NY2TX_Patti's idea. That I can do!
I have lots of cardstock squares and rectangles in lots of colors. I have some DP scraps too. I hope more respond to this thread so I can get some more ideas!

I keep all of my scraps in a big bin. When I am making a card I go through the bin first to see if there is anything that I can use, if not then I will cut into a new sheet of card stock. I do this all the time; you'd be surprised at how far those scraps can go!

Oh yeah, YEAH! It's Waltzing Mathilda!!!
(I still think "dancing Mathilda" 'cause "Stamping" is closer in sound to "dancing" than it is to "waltzing")
