Here I am, getting stressed because the cards aren't ready to mail, have to make potato salad for a party tomorrow, and too much to do. My DH watched me punching snowflakes, putting through the sticker maker. He then peeled and applied snowflakes to half the cards.
Tonight, I planned to assemble the layers (blue on silver on white). He asked me to show him how to use the mono, and he put all the adhesive on the backs of all the cardstock layers, and I placed them. What a help. I would have never gotten finished. He also stamped the self address on the envelopes, and put all the postage on for me.
We've been married since 1965, and I am blessed. He had a stroke November 6, and is doing great. I am a very happy woman.

I'd love to, but I don't know how to do it. I don't have a scanner.
I've learned so much from this site, maybe I'll learn how to put my cards on SCS. Eileen

Thank you for the nice comments. The cards are ready to mail, the potato salad is in the fridge, and I can go to bed relieved that both are done, thanks to my DH's help. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow and e-mail to Keri. Thank you very much. MaryEileen

What a great story! I'm jealous that I can barely get my guy to even look at the cards I make, let alone help me make them!!
I made my Christmas cards of course and sent one to his parents. The day they got the card, she called my boyfriend and told him that she wanted me to make a dozen more so she could send them out. I told him no way, that I made dozens and dozens already and he had no concept of what work goes into making cards. Am I overreacting? Would you all have made the cards for her? I do feel a little guilty, but we did already get her a TV for Christmas, so it's not like I needed a present to give her!

Maybe your boyfriend's mom was just very impressed with the card and wanted to share with her friends. I don't know if I would have made the cards or not - it would depend on the attitude she had when she asked for them. If it was an 'I love these! Would you make me 12 to send out?', I might have done it. If it was a 'Thanks for the card. Make 12 more so that I can send some out to my friends. I need them by Saturday.' It isn't likely that I would have the 'giving' spirit! LOL! I hope that makes sense.

irishjc820: Why do they always ask sooo close to Christmas? After I finished mine, I'm finished for this year - I don't care WHO asked, even if they had a wad of cash in their hands. Tell her you will make her some for next Christmas.
Those who DON'T hand craft itmes have NO idea what it takes to do so - time, money, creativeness. Those of you who do craft shows - don't you hear "oh I could do that" and also "for so much less".
Since they just needed writing in, my DH didn't help with the cards (he has HORRIBLE chicken scratch!). Instead, he frosted all the spice cookies and helped me put together my cookie plates for the party. He totally saved the day!

Mine did the same on Friday - he embossed for me!!! We did half the cards and he will help me with the rest tonight! He also set up the envelopes for printing and got some of them done before he had to go to bed last night! I think he realizes that it is much nicer to have hand made cards and they take more work than he thought!!!!

Thank you GMAX! If she had given me some notice, I would have just factored in her dozen when I was going through the assembly of making mine. Why wait until December 18 and expect me to "throw together a few more" on the spot.
It shouldn't surprise me though - I make these cakes that his family all really loves and she's been known to call me at work on a Friday afternoon and ask me to bake two cakes for her church bake sale the following morning!

What a sweet husband! Mine likes to help, too. In fact the other night he was stamping a set of tile coasters for his dad's Christmas gift. He comes from a long line of crafty people (unlike me...the crafting orphan LOL), so it's fun to work alongside him .
Can't hubbies be great? I was in the middle of making my cards last night when my mom called. Went in the other room to chat when I hear the BANG! of the hammer. I thought my 2 year old had gotten a hold of my eyelets and setter. Yikes! But it was just my DH trying to figure out how to set eyelets.
Of course, today he's a DH of a different sort. But that's a whole other story!
My DH did help me assemble all teh cards last night. It was a compromise-football stayed on (except for during Desperate Housewives-then we flipped) and he helped with all of it. He said he wanted credit this year-and I'll give it to him gladly! LOL

This is the boat I'm in. That would require him not looking at the computer. He is addicted to computers like I am to stamps. I don't know anything about what he talks about and he doesn't understand why I get so excited about embossing powder.
That is so nice when they offer to help. My dh helped cut all the paper for our Christmas cards and has offered to cut more if I need them. I was so surprised. He doesn't mind the cutting because it is mathematical--he is a math/science teacher.
