Do ya know any Chicago stampin or scrapping stores?
I get to go to Chicago on a business trip with my hubby for 4 days next week! WOOHOO!! So, I thought, while I'm up there I would see if they have any stores I could visit. Does anyone have any recommendations for me??!!! I know our hotel is right on Lake Michigan, but other than that, I'm clueless!!
Thanks a bunch!
Shaunna

Are you staying downtown? Unfortunately, there is only one store left but it is a good one... Windy City Scrap Booking
2265 N Clybourn Avenue
(between Greenview Ave & Bosworth Ave)
Chicago, IL 60614
(773) 935-0585 www.windycityscrapbooking.com .
Rose, did that one on Clark St. in Lincoln Park close? I can't remember the name of it. There's also Stampology, accessible on the Blue Line. And Dick Blick (not stamps, but lots of art supplies) on State St. in the loop.

i was in chicago over the summer and went to
stampology... it is small BUT it is pretty well packed. they sure had lots of stuff to offer for as small a place they have. i think it is worth a look see.
windy city scrap booking... it was quite a bit larger and boy o boy did they have LOTS O STUFF! i would say you should definitely make time to see this place! and make sure you have some money to spend!
have a great time and happy spending!!! i hope you find what ever it is you are looking for and maybe a few things you didn't even know you 'NEEDED'!
YES....Stamp on In is very much still there. Small but has lots of goodies. The guys that own it are fabulous. Rick and Terry. It would be an easy busy ride from down town.

my friend and i tried VERY hard to go to this little place... we wanted to go REALLY bad! parking was HORRENDOUS! we circled the block many times, even tried to go several blocks away to find parking. no luck! sad face!
we are hoping that we will be able to get in there the next time we go!
There are 2 nice places in St. Charles if anyone is going that far west. The Scrap Shack on Rt 64, and Stampers Cottage on 2nd? in downtown St. Charles.
Hey Michelle......if you go to chicago, treat yourself to a nice dinner....I mean real nice dinner at Roy's (720 State Street).....try the Butterfish, it is melt in your mouth goodness!

hi cindy!
i was just saying tonight that i am hoping to get to go again SOON!
i will have to keep this tidbit in mind! thanks!
my husband and his friend were just there today to pick up a car that our friends bought... i had to work! POO!
not like they would have taken me to a scrap booking store any way! LOL
Went to Chicago to spend Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family. Friday he took me to Windy City Scrap booking. It was fabulous! Then we went to Stamp On It. BF had to circle the block while I shopped. Cute store, but I don't think we will fight the traffic to shop there again. I did tell both shops that I had found them on a thread here and they were glad to hear it. Thank you for all of the recomendations!
FYI... I just received an email stating that Memories and Beyond in Downers Grove is closing on 03/15/10 after 5yrs. The staff was always so friendly and helpful. I'm so saddened by the news, but stregthens my resolve to support our local LSS with my limited craft budget when I'm able.

Another vote for Windy City Scrapbooking! I lived only a few blocks form there and boy was that dangerous! Such a big variety of stuff! I have tried to get there when we visit Chicago now but I never seem to make it! As for the burbs I do love Archiver's too! Would be a nice drive if you were to go to one!!
