Default Envelopes "on" cards

I have seen some cards in the gallery with hearts "popping" out of a small envelope on the front of the card. I don't have a machine that will make the small envelopes (only CB). I would love to use this idea for Valentine cards for Operation Write Home. Does someone know how to make these envelopes without a machine?
Thanks so much in advance!

Stampin' Up used to offer an envelope template where you trace and cut out the envelope. Maybe you can find something like that from another source.

Is it something like this?

LOVE YOU MUCH?

I used the Scallop Envelope die for the Big Shot from Stampin' Up!. Great little die. It also makes cute little baskets like this:

EASTER BASKET

HTH!

Yes, it is alot like that or the top can be square. I just don't have a Big Shot or access to one between now and 1-5-2010. Your card is very pretty!
I was hoping someone would have a pattern that I would cut freehand.
Thank you!

Great sites!!!!! Thank you so very much. Obviously, doing an online search never popped into my brain. I appreciate your taking the time to do that. I have printed out several templates and will work on them here in a minute.
Thank you again!

The scalloped envelope die that Krystal mentioned is available exclusively from SU! but it works in the Cuttlebug.

If you have a small envelope at home, you could gently pull it apart and trace it onto cardstock and use it for a template.

I've done it before where I just cut a square then fold three of the points in towards the middle. Super fast and easy!

Hero Arts used to sell them in packages, but I don't know if they still do. You could check their website. I have a Coluzzle template that has a small envelope (and card). Do you have a Cricut? I know you can make a small envelope with several cartridges. HTH.

A big thank you to everyone for our great ideas. I'm going to try out several of them when I get home from work today. I got stalled yesterday - friends dropped by. Anyway, it is so wonderful to be able to post a question on SCS and have so many lovely people take the time to answer. What a great site this is!!!! I hope I can offer some help/advice at some
point in time as you ladies have been kind enough to do for me.
Thanks again!

If you want to create a quick mini envelope without a template you can try this one. You can view the video clip here http://www.stampingvideos.com/2008/1...-template.html.

I don't know if Michael's still carries this punch, but I have the Marvy Uchida mini envie punch that I've used on scrapbook pages. I just glued small flower petals around it. It makes a 1 x 1 envie. It was much easier for me to use and the cut is better because it's punched out.
