Default Gallery comments

Whenever I post a comment on a card in the gallery, when I submit my post, it goes back to the enlargement of the card. If I "go back" it sticks on that enlargement. So, to see more of the gallery, I have to start from the beginning and click on gallery, then click on 1 day..etc. Am I doing something wrong or is it this way for everyone? Sometimes I don't feel like leaving a comment if I've been looking at page after page in the gallery...'cause I don't want to have to go back through all of the pages.

Once I have submitted a comment I usually click the back button three and it brings me back to the page I was looking at.

next to the back button is a tiny little black arrow-click on that and you can go back to "posts past day" and it will bring you to the main page you were last on.

not the refresh button. (I tried that..didn't work either) I don't know if I know what you're talking about.

I have had the same problem but when I have talked to others they say they don't. I have AOL. I wonder if it is the server but I have the same problem so it is a sacrifice of time to make a comment. I know how much they mean to people so I do it whenever I can but it definitely does slow you down! Way down!

I will look for that other arrow Camsmom was talking about but I don't recall seeing it. I hope it works!

on my computer it is to the left of the refresh button-it is right next to the Back button-a tiny little black arrow that points down

This is for camsmom. I don't know how to quote something and put it in the white box (could you tell me how to find out?).

Anyway, this little black arrow. Is it on the SCS website page or is it next to the back button on your tool bar? AOL doesn't have a tiny little arrow next to its back button but if it is on the web page, that would be great!

Hi Camsmom, I didn't see your comment until my reply showed up. On Aol, there is no such little black arrow. The only thing next to the back button is the forward button to the right of it, then there is an orange X button to the right of that, then to the right of that is the refresh button. Next to that is a blue house button. I"ve never tried that one. I guess we Aol folks are out of luck? :(

I don;t use AOL-maybe someone who deos will have a better idea for you :? ?

As far as quoting in the white box you can do it 2 ways.
You can hit the quote button on someone's post and it will create a reply box with their comments in there and you add to them

or you can drag your mouse over what you want quoted, Ctrl C to copy, Ctrl V to paste it in a reply box, and then highlight it and click the quote button.

I don't know who this might help, but I look through the gallery as mini images, and then if I see one that I might like, I right click it with my mouse, and then open it in a new window. That way, when I am done commenting, I can just close that window and go back to browsing! It works for me! HTH!

I also open the cards in a new window. You can also do this by holding shift as you click on it as you normally would.

Thanks for the quote box tip Camsmom! And thanks to the others who suggest opening a window!

AOL users: any ideas?

If you don't have the little "down" arrow next to your back button, just RIGHT click on the back button and it will show you the list of the places you've been. You can jump back four or five screens, if you want to. Works the same as the little arrow.

Thank you ladies for your computer savvy tips! You are great! Right clicking to create my own window has worked and now I will try this one!

ok..right clicking on the back button doesn't work either. Maybe it's an AOL thing. I will try opening a new window next time. It's just frustrating..but everyone is coming up with little tips I hadn't heard of before. Love this place!!!

Oh thanks to all! I have the same problem 'getting back' after leaving comments, so I rarely leave comments anymore..... I will atempt to 'implement' your suggestions!
One other thing I found is that if I search the last days' posts in the most freq viewed 'status', once I click on a card to view it, the entire page of cards changes when I return. I found that if I click on view latest, that does not happen.....

some browsers I believe (and IE in the old days) if you just click and hold on the Back button it will display your history and you can pick the page you want to go back to. works the same as the little arrow, but you just mouse down and hold it.

Opening the new window seems to help. I'll try and get in that habit. One thing I've noticed. I need to find new words to describe cards. Cute, pretty, adorable, stunning. I feel like I'm writing the same thing all of the time or writing what everyone else before me wrote. Anyone else ever feel that way?

Unfortunately, none of the back button tips are helping but the right clicking to make a new window is working out fine. Must be an AOL thing. If I can get in the habit to right click, comments will no longer be frustrating.

Thanks for your help!

ok..I notice that when the little message comes up, if I click on the back button right away, before it takes me to the card again, I can go back to the gallery. AOL users, try this...see if it works.

It works! It works! Thanks Stolynn!

Instead of holding the button down, click before the page has a chance to fully load and you can keep going back to previous pages. Click like a wild woman!

This is going to save us AOL users a lot of time and frustation. Now we can comment like crazy!

Thanks again everyone for your help!
