Drop something on the floor and bend over to pick it up. Notice a very small photopolymer stamp and pick it up. It's a spider that goes to the SU Bit Me halloween set. As picking up said stamp realize there is another stamp on the floor.
Go to pick it up and look at it thinking how can I drop 2 stamps on the floor and not realize it. Looking at the stamp it's a Real Dead Spider-Freak Out!!!

The most painful (IMO)....make a gorgeous card and mistakenly stamp your name on the back UPSIDE DOWN! There is no way to correct it or cover it up. You might be able to salvage the front and attach to another card base, but the original piece can not be saved.
Done that many a times! I look at it as it's a homemade card and let it be.
I have never received a comment back from a recipient of a card and told me that my name stamp was upside down.
But I have received comments about a stamp that I put on the back of my cards. It says "Better than a Hallmark card". People love that stamp!:p

Heat embossing is my most used technique, and if doing a lot get into a kind of zen happy place auto-pilot. Except for once. When using several stamps to make an all over pattern, I put a stamp on a block, tapped it with Versamark, and then poured embossing powder. . . on the stamp.
I looked at the stamp, puzzled. (You know how dogs do that head tilt thing?) There was this disconnect, and it took a moment to figure out what happened. So much for auto-pilot.
P.S. I suddenly remembered doing that because I almost did it again two days ago.
Thank you! bjeans- She is part Daschund so definitely can see the dox too. The rest is Border Collie, Spaniel Mix.
Stacy- Thanks for letting me know about the photo. Mine is not picking up the virus glitch. That is frustrating. I made sure this was a very legitimate site. Of course mine is not going to pick up a virus glitch since it's practically Fort Knox for my work. I never see what everyone else sees. That can be frustrating at times. I can tell you what the cat is thinking. "I am so taking that toy." She really does. She grabs the toys and runs off with them. Then chaos ensues. It is hysterical. Bones are safe. She thinks those are really gross.
jeannemlehrman- You are such an angel for taking in the retriever. I am sorry about your DH's lab. Puppy retrievers are the best chewers in the world, lol.
I am behind on my reading these but I just wanted to let you know that I looked at the first pic and when I closed it, there was a porn site that popped up...weird!:???:

Guys, I am sorry. Like I said my computer does not pick up these things because of the security settings and software I use. I did get a recommendation that this was a good photo site. It could be either user error or my friend does not know either. None of this was done intentionally. I am sorry I can't fix the links since we are not allowed to edit. Please do not click on them. I will send a note to the photo site letting them know this is an issue since it is used for others to share on forums and blogs. Maybe, they don't know either.
For those who not know Lylacfey, let me reassure you that she would never do something like this intentionally. She and I have been onlines buds for Years. Trying to keep up with the spammers, scammers, pervs, etc is near impossible anymore and definitely exhausting.
On the funny side it does sorta, almost fall under the category of what the thread is titled & about. :o Then again maybe it's just me, we had a very long day yesterday and I'm still a bit loopy.

Totally!!! And the title is now amusing
No worries - I removed all the links. Sweet lylacfey would never lead us into darkness
[QUOTE=maryalena;21669246]I have a little magnet on the side of my fridge. It says, Always Make New Mistakes. I need a second one hanging over my crafting area.[/QUOT
Oh boy, I need to put that magnet on my forehead.
Thank you Stacy & Lydia. Thank you Lydia for removing the links. I am truly grateful. With Photobucket pretty much dead and Flickr just bought over I don't really know the photo sharing sites out now. You all have recommendations I would love to know. I am sure some others are wondering too.

I didn't even think about Google Drive. Duh! Thank you Lydia. That does really help.
I know Stacy it is such a weird week, lol. I didn't even go in my room yesterday because I knew something weird would happen. I did go in today to clean it up.
No soggy socks. I did find a chewed up straw and a tiger with it's guts ripped out.
This Spring cleaning we did a big declutter. Got rid of lots of remodel things and what not. It was a lot. In the chaos a large box of my art supplies got donated. I just found out because I went to get something from that box. It was gone. I am just sick about it and feel so goofy. Least somebody scored with a good thrift find. I told my DH what I did. He said "Cool, you get to buy new things." I was like that is so sweet but I liked those things, lol.
I used permanent ink with a couple of small clear stamps yesterday morning and decided to use stamp cleaner instead of just wiping them off with a shammy. I had them and the mount balanced between my fingers when I walked back into my craft room. Instead of setting everything down and then grabbing a towel to dry off the acrylic mount I tried to dry it off while still holding the 2 small stamps. Next thing I know I hear a soft thud and realize I've dropped one of the stamps.
I have looked and looked AND LOOKED for it but it is now where to be found. Ugh! Why didn't I set them down first. Of course I need that stamp to complete the project I was working on too.
My only thought on that is not to vacuum for a few days and look with fresh eyes and know that it might be farther away than you think. Or... put in a new vacuum bag, vacuum every cranny and then check the bag. I have found them on surfaces above the floor fairly far away from where I flippped them. That is so frustrating. Sometimes I do better with badly stained stamps. They show up better on the carpet.

....try putting a nylon over the end of the tube part of your vacuum and using that to get into the nooks and crannies you might have missed. the stamp will stick to the nylon.

...sure its got a catchy beat, but can you stamp to it?
life is something that happens only when you run out of cardstock
Since in my old age my eyes are not as great as they once were, I have new best friends; little LED flashlights all over the house.
When I drop things in my craft room I use one to look for them. Look far away from where you thought you might have dropped it like a few other people have said. It's amazing how far they can jump!!
Hope your find it!

I ask DH to help me find things I lost on the floor. I know this one is quirky. I use the animals too. You know our animals will find things they are not supposed too. I will get down on the floor and my babies start "helping". They always find lost thing.
I also have a mag flashlight to look for things. I do have a little LED light I keep in my room if the power goes out I use too. Don't focus on the area where you lost it. Lost things love to bounce and hide in areas where you never think they will land.
Lol, I've gotten on the hands and knees too look, used an LED flashlight and will not vacuum until I find the darn thing.... or take out that trash bag.
Ugh, time to start emptying out things such as that donate box I have sitting there and the crate of stencils under the desk, etc.
I did check, rechecked and then rechecked again to make sure it wasn't in my hair or stuck to me. Why O why did it have to be a little stamp instead of a larger one.
My "knew better but did it anyway story" ... I KNEW better than to use Brushos in a room with carpet. I told myself, "but it's just a small spot I need to fill in". Can you guess what happened? I went to pull the pin out of the lid, it was a bit tight, so I tugged harder. Lid flew off, Brusho powder dumped in my lap and on the carpet. I immediately vacuumed up what I thought was all of it. There was a teeny, tiny color spot, so I grabbed the can of carpet cleaning foam to spray on that spot. It was an aerosol spray. I now have a beautiful rainbow of color on my carpet (which is less than two years old).

Nooooooooo............
Can you put a throw rug over it?

...sounds like a beautiful carpet now
Something like that happend to me with embossingpowder.
Usually I clean it all up immediately but on this day I thought... oh I will be heatembossing tomorrow again, I'll clean the floor tomorrow, when everything's done.
Guess what.
Sun came out.
I have no idea why this happend, I thought it needs really high temperatures.
Somehow the sun was enough.
I have beautiful tiny goldspots on the floor now. Looks nice, actually
That's good to know about the embossing powder. I'm not nearly as careful with that.
Throw rug wouldn't really work, since it's in a bad spot. It starts right at the corner edge of my desk and goes out, not under the desk. I'm not really all that concerned about it, surprisingly enough. I was pretty ticked off at myself when I first did it though. Life's way too short to fuss about stuff like that. It's not like I'm going to have a photo shoot for Better Homes and Gardens. My MIL lives over 3,000 miles away, so I don't have to worry about her seeing it and being horrified. So yep, I'm good. lol
These days you don't even need to use a third-party site to share photos here. You can insert them directly into a post by clicking on the icon that looks like the landscape icon on a camera, and then navigate to it on your PC. Just make sure it isn't huge, though, or it will stretch the page sideways and make that particular thread hard to view ;-).
