I have lost one or two tiny stamps before, but I just looked for my linen background stamp and it is missing! How could this happen???I am making the invitations for a friend's wedding. We have it all planned, but last night I got the great idea to use the linen background to give a little texture. I went to my background shelf and it is just not there :(((
Not only is this sad for the invitation (although I haven't told her my idea so she won't know) but I love that stamp.
Thanks for letting me vent.
I absolutely, more-than-anything, with-all-my-heart hate to lose things!! It makes me CRAZY. That said, you can imagine how I handled losing my entire Herbal Expressions set. Where the heck can it possibly be?? AND it's been discontinued!!! I have to go breath into a paper bag....
Su I know it is maddening when something seems to vanish .
Here is a thought
When was the last time you used the linen stamp and what did you make?
Try to reconstruct that in your mind . Did you also make something else at the time you made something with the linen stamp ?
Look for all the supplies you used to make that or those cards or items
Did you put it where you keep your ink, stamp cleaner or mounts ? Do you have an large acrylic mount or stamp press for background stamps ? Is it there?
Did you use other stamps when you used the linen stamp. It is with those stamps ?
You may have put it with one of the supplies you used instead of putting it back where you keep your background stamps
It will turn up . It is too large to be accidently toss out with scraps
Good Luck !!

I was pulling my retired sets out when the list came out and I couldn't, for the life of me, find Holiday Lineup. I think I loaned it to someone but I've asked everyone I would've loaned it to. I went ahead and ordered another one before the end of May so that I would have it so of course the original set will show up soon.
Oy!!! I'm sure something that size just HAS to turn up - for your sanity I hope it's soon.
I spend a lot of time on and off looking for the sentiment from one of the Pun Fun stamps, but I must admit I gave up on two missing clear alpha stamps.
sadly I have not been stamping or crafting for a while so I cannot remember even using it.
i figure it will show up just as the last envelope is sent in the mail.
I can see losing little stamps, especially now that everything of mine is unmounted, but for heavens sake to lose something as big as this? yikes.
thanks for all the commiseration. I knew I wouldn't get it from family
So sorry your stamp is missing, Su! That has happened to me MANY times! I get so frustrated and look everywhere, and most of the time when I finally just give up I remember where it is. Hope you find the stamp before you need these invitations done!!

I was in the process of mounting a brand new stamp set and the rubber part of a tiny flower stamp went flying and I never could find it (it may have landed on one of my two dogs who are always present when I am in my craft room). Who knows - maybe it will turn up someday. I would suggest (in response to the crafter who may have lent her stamp set to someone) that anytime you lend a stamp set (or anything for that matter) that you have a file box or a notebook wherein you record the transaction. People forget!
I saw the headline and thought it was one of the small acyrlic type stamps (I have lost two of them and it is frustrating...) They stick to everything...Now I take a large stamp block and stick each and every stamp to it was I work until I am finished and wash and put them away. I found one of my missing two about a month later stuck to my ribbon jar side. The other is still missing. I am sure the background stamp is going to turn up eventually. They are big....You didn't loan it out did you? If not, just stop looking for a bit, and maybe fresh eyes will spot it.. Good luck!!
I so understand your frustration. It seems as though some little gremlin likes to "relocate" items in here on occasion. The "return" date is rarely convenient. ;)
I feel you pain. Thing just disappear on my craft table even when I just had them in my hand. I would suggest that you start by looking in the refigerator--that's where I found my sugar bowl a few days ago. Good Luck.
Sue...if you don't find yours, I would be happy to send you mine. I have not used it in a long time and would be happy to gift it to you.
Just pm your address if you would like to have it.

Not too long ago I "lost" a nestabilities die set. I looked high, I looked low, I called a friend who was here that day to see if it got packed up in her goodies but it had not. Finally found it. RIGHT WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE!! Talk about feeling dumb! Everything I lose, is usually right in front of my face! LOL
Yikes! That is so upsetting! That is one of my classic go-to's so I understand how upsetting it would be to lose it. And the discontinued status just makes it worse.
really frustrating to lose anything and I love the comment, the return date is rarely convenient, so, so true Bev
thanks for the offer Amber. I believe SCS stampers are truly the kindest people out there. I wish I could take a journey around the country (and Canada) to meet up with everyone

Awwww .... it is true that SCS is home to many wonderful papercrafters. It's amazing to meet up IRL and share so much in common!

In truth, this happened to my hubby a few days ago. We were getting into the car, and he's obviously looking for something before we can leave. Yep! Those sunglasses were hiding out, right atop his head! (I tried ... really tried not to laugh too loudly.) ;)
What a happy ending.
Just don't lose the invitations, LOL.
Can you believe I took a photo of a card two, three weeks back that I'd made for a tea-party challenge. And when I went to mail it - no card. I STILL haven't found it, I had to send another one out. Laughing at the suggestion to look in the refrigerator because that's what someone suggested to me. But ours are way smaller than your big American ones, I'd never have put it in there.

I've lost two sets of nesties. I can't believe it! It took me forever to buy them. I took them to a card making fundraiser we had at work way back in Feb. I've looked high and low and they are NOT right where they are suppose to be....I sure wish they were!
I feel like as soon as I replace them they will show up. I was sooooo careful with them at work so nothing happened to them but I guess I wasn't careful packing them up and getting them back home ;(

now I feel a little bit jinxed the bride was here last night while I was working on the design. She left her whole wedding planner binder here. Good thing she is local.
What a happy ending.

Oh jeeze Sabrina, I did that. I made an incredible card, one of my all time favorites, to send to a sewing friend just out of the hospital. Everything about the card was out of my normal style. I just loved it. about a month later I could not remember mailing it. I actually called her and asked if she received it or if I lost it. The only place it could be is in the craft room and I tore it apoart looking for it. :(
