I have to drive an hour one way to Michaels. I had two different coupons. The lady said she would only take one. I said okay...checked out with her and thank goodness went to another line and bought the other one with the coupon. Usually they have only one check out person. There is always a way around things and this is one to share with the newbies... and if you are like me I always buy more than just one thing....
One time I had my 10 year old daughter with an item, a coupon and cash behind me while I had another coupon with my items. The cashier offered to ring it all up as one order and use both coupons.
After that I started, on my bolder days, just asking, "Will you let me use both coupons or do I have to have you ring up 2 separate orders?" Every time they just ring up both coupons on 1 order.
I don't know the official policy, but it seems to depend on the cashier.
Yesterday I had a cashier use a HL coupon for 40% (which they do regularly) on a SALE item; so this great Crop in Style paper tote that matches my Crop in Style XXL tote went from 24.99, on sale to 14.99 with 40% OFF for a whopping 8.99!
It definitely depends on the check out person! I've never had them do that before!
If they are different amounts you can use more then one coupon! For example one from Michaels that is 40% and one that is 50% off, and if Michaels is also offering an additional off coupon like for frames or martha stewart that is 25% you can use that too! I was excited when they changed their coupon policy, just wish it wasn't so confusing.

I was there today and at least in my area they had signs everywhere saying there won't be a newspaper insert any more. You are to go to their website and print them out.
I received a flyer with my purchase today (actually about 1 flyer for each item I bought!) that said there won't be anymore newspaper ads and that we'd have to print out the coupons.
My Michaels will let me use multiple coupons (same or differnet doesnt matter) on one purchase. The most I have used is (6) 40% off coupons on one order. I love it that they do this. It always makes me spend more too...lol
blessings.
The Michaels coupons say "One coupon per customer per day." So the cashier is not wrong in refusing to allow a customer to use two coupons on the same transaction, or even on two different transactions on the same day. S/he is just following the policy handed down from corporate and as printed on the coupon.
