I don't have any wheels at this time, but I am thinking about getting a few jumbo wheels to use in my scrapbook. If you have any wheels, do you use them a lot and which ones (SU) do you like best?
I use them TONS! and love them! I have no problem using them even without the wheel guide. Occasionally I run into someone who is "wheel challenged" tho and just can't seem to get it. My favorite jumbo is the Wash Day. I love it for baby cards. But for texture I'm loving the new ones ... Rough texture and Speckled. My favorite small ones... hmmm... I have too many ... leaf prints... watercolor joy... pine bough (for Christmas) Garden Annuals ..HTH or have I confused you more! LOL!
I love the jumbo wheels better than the smaller ones much more easier to use. I like Leaves awash for fall papes and I have the stars and swirls one (can't remember what it is called)
I am one of the wheel challenged people but I am getting much better.
Currently the only Jumbo I have is the leaves awash one but I plan on getting more. The catty has some great ones! I have lots of the regular wheels. Its a great way to make a background paper for sbing or for a card.
My only problem is having the right color ink cartridge...one way to solve that is to roll the wheel over a classic ink pad a few times w/o a cartridge or tonight I just ordered a versamark ink cartridge and plan to use my chalk or emboss.
I have the wheel guide and love it! I've also been known to use the side of my Fiskar cutter as a guide.
i think this new catty has the best jumbo wheels to use for scrapbooks and cards.
right now i only have the wheel matching to mixed bouquet - but i dont use it often :-( but iam planning to get outline from bud basics to make my own wraping paper.
I use wheels to make wrapping paper to go with my cards. You can get fairly inexpensive paper by buying plotter paper from a wide format printer store. You should be able to buy it from Kinko's or a similar store. I work for an architecture firm so I buy paper from the store that my company buys paper from. I would call a local architecture firm & find out where they buy their plotter paper.
I love the jumbo wheels and store mine in crystal light containers. I love the retired Lily wheel. I also love leaves awash and poinsetta one. I am thinking of getting the textured ones in the new catty. The only one I am definite on is the dry brush one.
I love wheels and have both regular and jumbo. I also like watercolor joy and snowflakes for Christmas wrapping. I currently use Bud Basics outline and I think I just got one of the new ones but I can't remember, oops! I really should get the guide since I'm a little crazy with my wheels.
I love my wheels, too and use them to scrapbook quite a bit. My favorites are hot to dot (well, I guess that's a regular wheel), the new rough texture and spot on. I also like square pegs and scatter sunshine
Love, love, love the jumbo wheels. I also am "wheely" addicted. I have over 100 wheels total and 24 of those are Jumbo wheels. I use them ALL the time to scrapbook. I love using the florals or my new favorite the big dot one. I made a really cute retro page with it. Adorable!!
I love the jumbo wheels. My first wheels were the small ones, but as I have bought the jumbo ones, I too have joined the ranks of the "wheely" addicted (although not nearly as bad as Robyn! :rolleyes
For scrapbooking, the jumbos are mahvelous! Only takes a few swipes and a 12x12 page is covered!
And this thread has reminded me - I need to order Rough Texture! ;)
Great thread! I don't have any wheels yet but plan on ordering several throughout this year.
Andrea, can I ask about the versa and chalks? Do you use the versamark ink and then just color it in with chalks? I want to try that is you can clarify.

I love the wheels, both sizes. I've just recently starting using them, but already have a bunch of them. Wheels just take some getting used to ... a friend of mine bought a wheel thinking it looked so easy to use. Then she said to me later ... wow, this wheeling is actually hard work! I had to laugh! Anyway, I also use the wheel guide and find it very helpful. My latest wheel is Rough Texture, havent tried it yet, but plan to soon. My demo has the Dry Brush one and it looks just like wood -- really neat. Have fun wheeling!
Jumbo wheels are much easier to use. I got my first one for Valentines last year and used it to make candy wrappers and on tissue paper for presents. I just got the rough texture, Hollyhock and the Halloween one. I can't wait to try them.

I have all kinds of wheels, but the Jumbo are my favorites. They're so easy to roll across an ink pad or Versamark too. My very favorite jumbo is Rough Edges. It makes a great background on almost any card (but then I'm REALLY into textured backgrounds). It took me a while to take the plunge and buy a jumbo wheel and it turns out that i've NEVER used the 1st one I bought (Carnival). Go figure. I do love the rest of the ones I have though!!!
I've been toying with the idea of getting a jumbo wheel handle and then some jumbo wheels. I never use my standard sized ones. Are they easy to use with a regular ink pad if you ink them up well? I don't want to have to buy the jumbo ink cartridges in different colors.

I think my favorite is SU's Leaves Awash. I use black ink cartridtge on ivory paper and then use sponge daubers to add color to the leaves with bravo burgundy and really rust and some others. Looks great on a card, a scrapbook page or even wrapping paper!

So with the wheels can use have several handles each with a different color and then just switch out the wheel each time you want that color? Is that how they work?
I am thinking if I get black or brown, green, pink and versamark then I would be pretty prepared for most things.
I ordered the basics outline out of the mini last night and a handle but on cartriage. I will just run it over an ink pad for now.
Sunny, you only need one handle ... then you can switch the ink cartridge to use different colours, or run the wheel through an ink pad to ink it up ... you do not need several handles.

My favorite is FARMYARD. I use it often to create a scene to cut and mount on the Chicken Wire Background. The image is easy to color in and is so cute.

Wheel cleanup is super simple. Since there's no wood and no foam, you can pop the wheel out of the handle and take it to the sink and just rinse the ink off. Blot with a paper towel and you're ready for the next color!
