Default Scrapbook Album (SU vs. CM)

Has anyone used both SU and CM scrapbooks? I have only used CM and I have loved it.

What do you like about SU's album?
What don't you like?

I have never used SU albums but if they are top loading I think they are much easier to use than CM which is strap hinge. I used CM one time and hated it. Was very cumbersome to get filler pages in plus I like to used colored paper and I did not like the fact that I had to glue my printed pages on top of the white. I felt like I was paying twice - once for the white page then for the printed and to top it off, I had to buy a separate protector. Pluse the pages are not true 12x12 so I always had to trim. Then 2 page spreads never looked good because of that middle. Have to say I love top loading and my humble 2 cents is that CTMH has the nicest top loading albums. They have leather, imitation leather and cloth. Their protectors are also awesome (matte or glossy) and they are true 12x12. Probably more of a review than you were looking for.

I am working a 12x12 leather SU album right now. I love it! It's top loading and one of the nicer scrapbooks I've worked with. I haven't worked with a CM for several years so I can't compare.

Default SU V. CM

I have only used SU. I went to a CM workshop and SU hands down is better
due to the fact SU is top load so your not forever having to dimantle the whole book, just move the page. I have a customer who changed over and is
now swearing by SU's.

I love SU albums. I was in the local scrapbook store today and a woman came in to buy pages for her CM album and the owner told her she had to go thru CM to get ones to fit properly and the woman didn't know that. She wasn't happy. I have found other pages to fit my SU album but the SU ones are by far the thickest ones out there.

I have used scrapbooks that are similar to SU but prefer, hands down, CM albums. Yes, it is a nuisance to move pages around, but in the long run they do hold up well. With the way the page protectors slide on, dust doesn't get in the top when are on the shelf. It is definitely a preference - I like the CM quality.

I like the set up of the SU album better. Love the colors they offer and the linen looks and feels nice. (I just bought the Moss linen). I have both, but prefer SU.

I have used both and like both. Both companies offer a very superior product. To me it depends on how you scrap. If you do everything chronologically then there will be no problem using CM. You also probably won't have to take the book apart much and won't always be thinking about what is on the "other side" of your page. If you scrap randomly then the top loading SU type are better because you have a little more flexibility there. I do both, use both.
I find that baby albums and school stuff is easy to do chronologically, but then all the other I like to scrap as my mood dictates and I use top loading.
Hope this helps.

I love CM albums - that would be my first choice. I do not care for top loading albums but if I did I would use SU because of the quality.
