Ummm.... I'm probably missing something obvious, but I'm trying to figure out what one would do with the "please take a seat" stamp in the new Simply Celebrate stamp set. I can't really see myself putting that on a greeting card. Maybe to create escort cards? Although I've never seen this phrase on an escort card. Scrap booking?
Any thoughts are welcome. It will keep me from scratching a bald spot onto my head.
I haven't looked at the set, but I think you could also use it for a fun card if you were making a surprise announcement on the inside! Like an engagement, or pregnancy or whatever...
Sabrina's idea about using it for a "surprise" announcement is very clever.
I recently used it for place cards for guests at a workshop. Not everyone knew everyone else so it made for a fun conversation starter. The guests seemed to get a kick out of it.
I'd use it for a large event I have coming up in May, except that I also have the "Hello, my name is" sentiment in the Starburst Sayings set. I think I'll be making name tags with that, instead.

It goes with the little party banner kit so it's really for a party. With Pinterest and all some people are REALLY in to fancy parties and stuff like that now. Makes sense to me although I'm not a party planner type :-) The announcement idea is cute and kind of genius! :-)

I am so glad I am not the only person to have this reaction to that stamp.

Thank you so much to everyone for clarifying! I guess it does make sense as a place/name card stamp. I've just never put anything other than someone's name on a place card, so it didn't occur to me. When I saw the "please take a seat", I thought of a court room where everyone is told "please be seated." And I'm so card and gift tag focused that I completely missed the connection between this set and party decorating.
I agree that Sabrina's idea is a great way to use this stamp on a card, and maybe I'll have to throw a party with place cards.

Know what, it could be cute at a wedding too, maybe a more informal one where they have a sign that says sit on whatever side you want. Could be on the program or something. Just popped in my head, maybe because my BIL is getting married :-)
And everyone needs a reason to throw a party, right??? :-)
I just use the Hello part of the stamp and mask the bottom off.
We did that at my class last night, except that I didn't even bother to have them mask. Just stamped on a strip and cut out with one of the banner framelits. Perfect and easy to do.

That's what I thought of immediately, a casual wedding. But I'm an amateur party planner so I've been exposed to lots of different party styles. A little picture in the catalog that showcased it in that setting that might have been a good thing. ;)
