I just went to the demo website and I don't see anything about a Black Friday there at all, not even a hint. What's your source?
I think they are refering to the Holiday Extravaganza Promo. This is from the demo side of SU!:
Holiday Extravaganza Sale. This sale will be November 26 - December 1 and was designed specifically to tap into the post-Thanksgiving buying frenzy shoppers look forward to, as well as to appeal to those online shoppers who are looking for a great deal before Christmas.
That's about as much info as we demos have. It's a sale and it will be from Nov. 26-Dec. 1. That's all anyone knows! Talk about torture!
We have heard hints that it will be awesome, that it will include some bundled products at a great discount. But at this point - it is all rumor. I can't wait!

They say they're not telling more until the day of. I don't know how they are planning to launch a huge sale on a holiday weekend when no one is working! I wish they would give us a couple of days notice. Maybe if we beg, plead, whine, and act like my kids when they don't get their way.
What on earth is Black Friday? It sounds ominous...
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when pocket book conscious and/or crazy people get up before the sun and go to stores to get really good deals on things they need, want or are buying for Christmas. It's practicually another holiday except there no food and sometimes there are fistfights. Hopefully that helps!!

I think SU is 'Shooting themselves in the foot' by not releasing the Black Friday info before that day!!
The whole point of getting the sales info out before-hand is to make sure the companies get the buying money first before it's all spent!! If SU doesn't let customers know beforehand they may spend everything they have on all the other deals they see ahead of time.
That's the trick behind 'Early-bird specials'...the earlier they get you in the store, the more money you have...by the end of the day many shoppers are BROKE. So when they all go home and see the SU specials, it's just too late. LOL
Ok I shouldn't be laughing...but it is funny! Every year stores open earlier and earlier, and this year I saw an article about how some people with direct deposit are going to go to the register to checkout at 2AM with their check card to find out their Friday deposit isn't credited yet!! CRAZY!!

The special will start on Wed 11/26, so they will actaully get ahead start on store and websites who won't have their sales start until Fri. While a lot of the specials are already out there online for retailers the offical ads don't come out until Wed. or Thurs

It's called Black Friday because the retailers hope it means that with all the sales they will end the year in the black.

The other posters said that the info won't be released until the day the sale starts??
And they don't exactly advertise in the same papers we all read on Thursday.
Their line of communication requires a little more advance notice on sales than most retailers.

Right, but the sale starts before Black Friday wereas most other retailers won't have their sale start til Friday. The advertising is also similar to how retailers who are only online would have to advertise...email. From one of the posts above the demos are aware that there will be a promotion, SU! just needs to count on them to make sure that they communciate it to their customers in a timely fashion.

My mistake...I went back and read that it is to start on the 26th...I was thinking that WAS Black Friday.
I still see absolutely no reason to withold the sale info until it starts. I think buyers would be more likely to spend more there if they knew ahead of time that what they wanted was on sale. And if it's not, they aren't buying it anyhow. JMO
