Watermelon Wonder ink pad color.....

I opened mine and used it yesterday and it didn't even come close to matching the paper. It was more of a Real Red color. I tried it on different types of paper with different types of stamps and they all looked very red. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

After it dries it looks different. (to me)

If you're unhappy with it, I suggest asking your demonstrator to have it exchanged for you. ;)

The more recent pads are too juicy. Some tips are to stamp on scratch paper first, then the second stamping will be lighter and more true to color. I've also heard to take a bone folder or back of a spoon and "massage" your ink pad to get the ink to settle a bit. HTH

Too juicy can be icky ... that's the truth! I've also over-re-inked in the past, and absorbed excess out with a folded paper towel. ;) Now I re-ink with a lot fewer drops before trial stamping again.

Thanks ladies! I had already tried to stamp off and that didn't really work because I got kind of a blotted image. Then I tried the spoon method and got a lot of ink coming up around the pad. I did blot one small piece on a corner and used a small stamp on it and that was more true to color. Right now I've got it "spooned" down and stored upside down to see if that helps any. If not, I'm going to have at it with a paper towel because it may just be too juicy........and thanks for the tips about being careful while reinking too! My demonstrator is the best and has already said she'd be happy to return it for a new one if that's what I decide to do.

I use the paper towel trick all the time -- it makes a big difference.
