Even though I'm purchasing a Carl Cutter tomorrow, my best purchase before that was my Fiskars 12" Trimmer. I don't think I could stamp without it.

My most useless purchase was the Tearing Edge. I never use it, partly because I can't see exactly where I'm teating. It there was a clear plastic one I would buy it in a minute.

My absolute best purchase was the Twinkling H2O's. I LOVE them. I use them constantly (probably to much).

My worst purchase was probably the Coluzzle system. I never use it and never could get the hang of it.

I agree - this was my best purchase and should have happened before all else. Sometimes when I use an older stamp set, I realize the mistake of not using the SU! scissors. Also found out Pampers Lavendar scented baby wipes clean the scissors like nothing else - just one swipe and the goo is gone!

Worst purchase: The copper asst. metal tags. I'm sure it's just me but I had the worst time trying to do anything with them - my embossing looked awful and adding paper looked cheap, hated the holes etc... traded them to someone who I hope gets better use out of them!

Default best and worst

Best:

1. Fiskars 12" Rotary cutter. Saves me so much time and effort. The smaller cutter ( like the one SU sells) makes me crazy

2. Shimmerz paints

3. Colorbox Jumbo pigment ink pads in black and gold

4. Clear embossing powder in bulk.

5. any su two step stampin sets ( they add so much dimension!)

Worst:
1. That stupid color wheel
2. colorizer heat gun
3. plaid maker ( I needa slap on the head for buying that one)

This is a fun thread!

My best purchase: Hybrid inkpad; SU cardstock
My worst purchase: SU! All in a Row stamp set (I'm just not skilled enough to use it...one year later and I still cringe every time I see that set in my stack...sigh)

Happy holidays everyone!

The best: SU matching inks and paper.

Worst: Cheap ink that was on sale at Michael's.

I really like things to match now.

I was thinking the same thing, but since you all brought it back up,

my worst is the SU plaid maker, what a messy pain in the butt
my best is my paper cutter, dont know how I truly lived without it!!

My best purchase would be my SCS membership. Love it! and then my SU scissors.
My worst purchase would be stickers. I thought I'd recycle them by giving them to my daughter. ugh so now I'm peeling them off the furniture.

Worst - like others have said, cheap cardstock.
Best - almost everything from SU has been fab but especially the circle punches, the Basic Black ink and the rubber scissors! Oh, and my Tonic paper cutter. I'll stop now! ;)

Well, since the old thread has been revived - my best purchases have been SU paper/ribbon/stamps. My worst (and I still have to question my sanity on this purchase) Fiskar's decorative scissors. I cannot, even if my life depended on it, cut a straight line with regular scissors; somehow, I had the delusional thought that it would be better with decorative scissors. At least they have found a new home with some nieces who still think their Aunt is cool.

Worst purchase? My Carl Cutter (I note that several of you love it though), because it didn't cut accurately and after paying over 60 for it, I expected better, so I sent it back and got a refund.
Best purchase? Anything SU! I particularly like how the colours co-ordinate and how Whisper White cs accepts ink.

Best overall is the SU starter kit.

Before SU...
Best my Eazi score board, about to be replaced by a multi-board

Worst- Oh all of those bulk buy bargains in my naieve early days, they all seemed too good to be true and they were.

I got a giggle from this old thread too~

My worst purchase was the Silent Setter. I never was able to set anything well with it. Would that make my best purchase the CropODile?

Nah, my best purchase was the ATG. Hands down, it has rocked my crafting world!

I agree rubber scissors are the greatest but not something you ever think of purchasing.

Worst purchase would be Wild Rose stamp set. It was one of the most expensive sets I've bought and I hardly use it at all even though I love the images, they are too big to use easily on cards.

My best purchase: my kit and first order as an SU demo... ink, paper, embossing powder...

Worst: my Cricut. Not because it is a bad product. I am sure it is great. I bought it 6 months ago and it is still sealed in the box. Imagine how much SU stuff I could have purchased instead! Other worst: decorative scissors, for all the same reasons everyone else said. Now my kids have fun and I pick up the little pieces of paper (cheap Michaels stuff) every day.

So what did you find that you love? I have been using and suffering with the Fiskars trimmer for YEARS! I like being able to score with it, but it is way too inaccuate for my taste and I am always having to apologize for it at my camps... on the other hand, I have the tonic for mass cutting and I love it- makes WS prep easy, but not for scoring!

My best purchase was Stampin' Up! cardstock.

My worst purchase was a non-SU cardstock.

I had no idea the c/s at SU was so great! I thought, "Oh I just need some white c/s...no biggie..." BIG difference!

So funny about the cardstock!!! I have been hoarding carefully sorted and trimmed bits of cardstock and patterned paper in my scrap bins. I took a class once and have been using this six color system, which works really well for me, for scraps. Anyway, I just went through and probably got rid of 80% of my paper scraps. Next will be the rest of my paper. I just don't like anything but SU cardstock now. I had bought all this red and green when it was on sale at Jo-Anns earlier in the year, and when I used it for cards I hated it. I hated the white core, made it look so cheap and crappy.

My LSS is having a garage sale soon, I'll be getting rid of a LOT of paper then.

My worst purchase next to all that crappy paper was my 12 x 12 fancy pants acrylic stamps. So expensive and I never use them. I also rarely use my Xyron 510.

BEST purchase(s): gamsol, stampamajig, square rubbermaids for EP and heat n stick.

Cropadile is another favourite of mine, oh and my tote- it sat dormant for a year but now that I am a demo it rocks.,

This thread is making me want to go and organise my craft room, and that could be bad this close to Christmas in a house that is begging to be decorated!

Fun thread...lots of SU fan here. LOL

My best: ATG, Cricut Expression, Basic Grey Magnetic Mat, my Tonic paper cutter

My worst: cheap AC Moore pattern paper, rubber stamps that you have to trim (I hate trimming), coluzzle, paddle punches, countless foam stamps (but I am determined to figure out how to use them well)

Oh my, so much to choose from for both! I agree with a lot that's already been posted. SU! paper is awesome, matching inks, too. Love my markers, my watercolor crayons, my shimmery paints and pencils.... I don't think a girl can have too much color in her life! (The SU! ink pads (large) totally s*ck ... that goes somewhere on a worst) Couldn't live without my Stamp-a-Majig. Love my clear stamps. Love my SU! sets. SU! in general is falling lower in my best list, but there are still plenty of things to like ... Couldn't live without SCS -- that's WAY up on the best list ... But the best and worst ....Hmmmmm ...

(How about all those things I used to buy, and then when I got around to trying them out, couldn't remember what they were for, much less how to use them? That isn't 'zactly a worst -- it's a whole junk heap! LOL)

OK, my worst: the Wizard embossing machine. It must be magical all right, cuz getting anything in and then out without it flying across the room is quite a challenge. For what I paid, (got it at a stamp convention or I'da returned it) I was determined that I would learn to use it with the ease I'd seen the demo use it (and there are were such a lot of cool things you can do with it, if I ever get up to half the skill level she has). Just some more practice, practice, practice. Anyway, the Cuttlebug came into my life about a year later and after about six months of internal torture, I broke down and used a generous gift certificate and got one -- love it, love it, love it! But it's not my best purchase ...

my best: actaully an accidental purchase -- my glass topped dining room table that has made it's way to my stamp room. For starters, it's an instant light box; but more than that, I love the way materials clean up, I love that I can see through it to find things, I love how it doesn't "give" when I'm stamping an image, I love ... ... everything about my table!

Default Best and Worst

Best - Cropadile, SU inks and papers

Worst - Non-SU inks (thought I was saving money before I knew better) - horrible quality and the colors are just off

I have a room full of craft stuff...or as my hubby calls it crap stuff.

My favs - Cuttlebug and the embossing folders; SU tabletop cutter; watercolour crayons; SU ink pads and paper; SU colour wheel; my new Triple Stack organizer (expensive but makes me want to go into my room and stamp)

Regrets - cheap cutter from Staples; CM punches - does not work on good cardstock; deco scissors; adhesive tape from Michaels and Walmart - big time waste of money IMO - just bought the ATG and can't wait to try it out.

My very best was the ATG gun..it's faster, easier, better and cheaper that mono or 2side tape.

My worst....hmmmmm...ok..when I first decided to go move away from SU because of their angel policy I didn't know what I was doing and bought about $90 worth of wood mounts (12" by various widths) and cushion. Eventually I'll try to sell them.

Many paper manufacturers make paper that is not truly 12x12 ... not only SU.

Best- too many to mention really.

Worst: wheel guide - never used it, never used it to decorate wrapping paper as I envisioned when I purchased it. I have since unmounted my wheels and use them as background stamps and am MUCH happier with that format.

I also don't use my WWC much. Love the watercolor pencils. I know several people swear by the WWC, I am just not one of them. Isn't variety terrific?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

My worst purchase ... hmmm, too many to mention. I seldom use the big Xyron that I just had to have... I really should stop buying paper stacks.. but most of all - keep me away from acrylic stamps! They are just not for me although I keep trying..

Best purchase? I love my Xacto guillotine paper cutter from Staples!

I think that every Christmas an ancient thread is revived...fun!

My worst purchases: M's cardstock (until I knew better), Basic Grey Notch Tool, lots of "early" embellishments.

My best purchases: Clear 12X6 quilting ruler (use it so I can see where I'm cutting when cutting smaller pieces of paper, MM distressing tool (use it all the time - I'm on my third one), Cuttlebug (used to have a sidekick), Scor-It, Prisma colouring pencils, Ultraclean.

Best: The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig! I resisted buying one for sooo long because I just didn't understand how it worked. Then the clerk at my LSS explained it to me and a lightbulb went on. I stamp a lot with Rosie's Roadshow stamps, which require lots of masking and exact placement. The SMJ made a huge difference.

Worst: A set of CTMH My Acrylix that I bought at a stamp fair last year. Tried using them once--they don't stamp that well--and it is not like I'm anti-clear stamp or anything. Just can't seem to get these ones to work for me.

My best buy is unmounted rubber. I have 100 sets on my desktop, and my mounted stamps sit unused. My Palette Noir and Brilliance Black inks, Also my tag punches and my ticket corner punch.

My buyers remorse is for my large SU pads. I have 5 colors plus black and never ever touch them. I am a spots girl! (I took out one today to do some indexing- thought it would work better since I was doing so much stamping, and it sags so much in the middle I had to switch to spots!)

I also never touch my perfect pearls. Ever, except the day I got them. And my Palette glue pad has never worked!
