Hi. :( I have a problem. It's seems simple but I can't quite figure it out.
What are the typical cardstock layer sizes? I mean, the typical size of cards and then the typical sizes of the first and second layer of cardstock you glue on top of the card? Is there any chart for this?
A card is an 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of cardstock cut in half and then folded so one quarter of the original size. 4 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches. You can do layers whatever size you want. Depending on what I am doing, I don't even measure. I just cut it a bit smaller than the card or a bit bigger than the stamped image I want to layer under.
For layers I usually do 1/4 inch difference so that I have a 1/8 inch mat for each layer. Sometimes I vary the last layer a bit more and make it 1/2 inch bigger for a 1/4 inch mat. A good way to see how the layers will turn out is to play with scraps of cardstock or scrap paper that you put a little ink on so that you can see the different edges of paper. Helps to visualize it and get the right effect.
