I use empty SU plastic containers to store pre-printed sympathy cards - the very most difficult cards to make, in my opinion. :(
I print off many copies of different "insides" of cards that I've composed in my card-making program - on white, off-white and confetti cardstock. Then I cut and fold them and put them in the box. I do the different colors so that there will be a matching card base for any combo I use for the card front.
When it's time to send a card, I make a layered card front with stamping on it and then find a pre-printed card with the appropriate sentiment from the box and attach the front to the card. Having the inside already composed and waiting makes these cards easier to get done, with less emotional energy.
I use a ball canning jar for to hold my colored pencils.
LOVE my Pampered chef utensil caddy!
I have two spice caddies (round).... the small jars are Perfect for brads, eyelets, primas, buttons.... anything small.
My ribbon lengths are in clear storage jars on my desk so they are visable.
I think this counts... I also buy the scotch foam tape at W-Mart for $4 rather than the dimensional dots. This way I can cut whatever size I need.
My husband also gave me a roll of sheetrock/plaster tape to use rather than the "magic mesh" product on the market. I can color it any color AND it's already sticky!
I think that's it!
I use empty. clear CD cases for fiber scraps. Just roll them around your hand and put them in. The cases stand in a row. I also have nifty furniture. 2 wooden map and document cases (sometimes called flat files) I got at a govt auction. One was a coffee table for a short while. but now they hold stamp sets 1 deep. Also those gorgeous papers you sometims see sold as huge sheets of wrapping paper. It holds those flat without rolling or folding.

It's not who you know-it's whom you know.
-old school pencil plastic boxes (from any office supply store) to store my inks
- film canisters for embellies (yes, i'm still use a film camera)
- small, round plastic containers that chinese take out soup /extra sauce comes in for EP or big embellies
my MIL used to get me cute store bought box sets of cards and i've kept those boxes (already decorated!) and store random supplies in it..they're quite sturdy!
My favorite is a wood 8 track holder with 48 slots that hangs on the wall over my stamping area. The best part is I bought it at a garage sale for $1.00.
I also scout thrift stores for large ball jars that I use for ribbons, buttons and flowers.
We're luck to have so many thrift stores in my area, so I have a great time scouting out organizational items.
Mine arent all that creative. I have all my spools of ribbon in gutter and it hangs on the wall, that I saw here, and I have all my prisma pencils by SU color family in large baby food jars.

Holder for my ATG
I like my ATG (adhesive transfer gun) to stand up without standing it upside down. I saw some holders on here, but I looked around and found an ordinary coffee mug that works perfectly. If you want to see it, there's a pic in my gallery.
I use thin metal welding tape I swiped from hubby to make metal emblishments, goes through my cuttlebug beautifuly.
An old Tupperware stacking organizer it has three round containers that stack with a lid on top holds chopboard and die cut shapes & letters
My hutch that was in my dining room now is in my scraproom with my Cricut & Cuttlebug on it the bottom doors hides paper, mailing supples and baskets with my die, embossing folders, cartridges and supples for my bugs the top shows off several projects I've made as well as my Prima collection
Glass spice jars hold buttons, brads and other small emblishments
Wooden CD crates hold my ink pads
Small flower pots hold paint brushes
Wine rack with plastic cups hold markers and gel pens
Veggie can wrapped in pretty paper for ribbon scraps
Plastic canvas scrap for positioning brads & eyelets
Darning needle for percing paper
Expandable file folder for rubons
cardboard Priority mail envelops that I receive in the mail become chipboard shapes, they are thinner than regular chipboard but work great covered in pretty papers.
Tester spoons are great for embossing powder and micro beads
Some of the things have been talked about already:
- old cassette holder for my stamp pads
- cd shelf for my stamps
- shadow box that my husband has drilled and put dowels through for my ribbons
- film cannisters for brads and eyelets (I glue one on top so I know what they are
- daily medicine holder for other brads and eyelets
- a great rattan utensil holder for picnics. In addition to the knife, fork and spoon spaces there is space in the back that I can put three glass containers for my paint brushes, rulers, etc.
- skewers to mix pain and sometimes to use for swirling paint around
- knitting needles for paper piercing
- memo holder for pieces of paper that I don't know what to do with, but I just can't throw away
- empty cans for a variety of things
-a great old flatter style basket for miscellaneous buttons that I find, take off shirts that are destined for rags
- boxes that checks come and small boxes from business cards because the size is great and fits into a plastic chest of drawers to organize things
- a metal container that is supposed to be an industrial like vase (outside) that I use to put my embossing tool in
- wire baskets for my primas, glues etc.
forgot one-
cookie sheets or serving trays for project organizing. I usually have multiple projects going on so I can get out a tray and put with it the stamps, papers and embellies I want to use. I am easily able to put one tray aside and grab the next, plus they are stackable so that I can maximize my desk space.
I don't think this one has been mentioned. As a demo, I own most of the Stampin' Up! ribbons. When I finish one off, I save the plastic spools and use them to wind on small pieces of ribbon to use as door prizes. My customers love getting these little samples of ribbon.
I have the lg, round, clear plastic containers for little used ribbon. I have one that holds printed ribbon, one that holds really wide ribbon, and one that holds holiday ribbon.
An empty spray bottle w/hairspray and dazzling diamonds mixed for a spray.
A couple of the screw/nail organizers hold my brads & eyelets.
I have several baby food jar lids screwed & glued onto a peice of wood that I've used to organize my flowers by colors. It makes a great decoration, too!
A kitchen utensil hanger holds my fiskars texture plates.
Heavy-duty plastic accordian folders, I have two. One holds my scraps organized by color; the other holds extra embellishments organized by theme.
Wax paper & aluminum foil to sharpen my punches when they become sticky.
An empty SU box & marbles to make a marbling effect on cards.
Dental floss in case I need to remove something already stuck. Just slip it behind the paper or picture and slid.
Small artist palettes for when I need just a bit of water (i.e. when using WCW crayons).
Empty plastic fruit cups (like from mandarin oranges) are great when I need small supplies out. That way I'm not constantly losing brads or whatnot.
CD cases to hold loose stamps.
An empty spray bottle from bath & body works holds water for when I'm making a brayered bg.
I made my own ribbon rack from wood scraps & aluminum dowel rods.
I use a pampered chef cake tester for when my cropadile or punches get those little bits of paper built up. It's the perfect size to get in there.
I also have the usual household stuff that's likely to be found in a scrapper's tool box: shaving cream, alcohol, bleach, gamsol, a pan scrapper, and the various baskets for holding items.
i use a shoe cubby to store my ink pads and my other stamping tools like my brayer, heat gun, etc. i store my embellishments in a nut and bolt container, the drawers are perfect.i also have peg board in my closet to hold other things like my scissors .
Wow! I got a gazillion ideas. I've been saving coffee and nut cans. Plan to cover them in coodinating paper, embellish and use them as "Wall Art" for my new workroom.
I have a tool box that I love. I use the screw/nail compartments on the top for embellishments. The removable tray inside holds scissors and punches and the bottom space holds a number of ink pads, all 4 sets of stampin spots, ribbon, heat gun and ep. Makes transporting materials to stamp with others a breeze!
I was also given two wallpaper sample books that I use as dp. It gives a very elegant look.
I found a record player cabinet at a consignment shop: the bottom is partitioned into 12 1/2 inch tall by three inch wide slots... perfect for DP! I just felt so smart when I thought of using it that way!
I like to arrange flowers and I am an avid gardener so I have used
Rose bowls for my ribbons. These are clear and they stack very well. I use the square glass flower containers you can find at Ikea or many other places for my colouring pencils. My luminarts are in a clear glass shorter version of the rose bowl. My extra markers are in a heart shaped vase put on its side. My brushes and blenders are in a couple of small antique flower vases and some of my brads are in a spice rack I found at a discount store. I use a deep cutlery tray (or makeup tray) for all my small scraps which I divide by size. I also use Page protectors to put my larger cardstock pieces by colour and place in a vertical file holder. I use make up bags (the ones you get for free when you buy their procucts )for my dymo gun and refills. My biggest challenge seem to be storing my full sheets of cardstock, right now I just put them on a shelf and this doesn't seem to work for me, so any ideas that doesn't cost a lot of money? I would really prefer to spend my money on stamps and other goodies we all need, right?

Large glss jars for ribbon - beautiful on a shelf. Easter baskets for tools. Tin cans, and metal baskets for pens, Mason jar for colored pencils, vanity tray for completed and ready for use cards, garage cabinety for the base of my table (no doors), and a solid core dooras my scrap table. I can get it all messed up - sand it down - paint it - and start all over. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I like to repurpose in my crafting as wel. Cutting up books especially kids books is my favorite!

i use pushpins for piercing.
cd cases for acrylic stamps and UM,
SU cases for works in progres, handled baskets for works in progress, so I can tote from one room to the next w/ a tupperware tray.
pampered chef utensil organizer for rulers, etc.
index card holder holds card sketches on 3x5 cards for inspiration.
embroidery floss boxes hold ribbon/fiber scraps.
flatware organizers hold small punches in drawers....
I use two large soup cans (laying on the side) for storing pens horizontally on a shelf at eye level. It makes it so easy to see and find what I need.
I also use #4 (free) boxes from the PO (altered with paper/bellies) to store my CTMH stamps. They fit perfectly!
When we put in a new dining room light, I couldn't bear to throw away the old fixture. It was a gold, three-tiered deal covered with crystal rectangles. I removed the crystal, and use the frame to hold my packaged embellishments. The packages hang perfectly on the hooks where the crystals used to be, and it holds my huge inventory. Now it hangs from a cup hook in my craft space! Very decorative and functional.

There are great ideas here. Some I already use and some new clever ideas I never would have thought of. Fananir you win the prize for the one I need most and NEVER would have come to on my own. I have too many mugs in my cabinet anyway! I will find a plain one and use a decorative rub on on it to make it prettier!
thanks,
I have my grandfathers antique china cabinet for stamp storage and finished card display...also have his old kitchen table to use as my work space which is flanked by bookshelves that I put a long tension rod across to hang my stickers (used drapery clips) and baskets of ribbon (Ikea baskets). I also picked up a plastic tote from the target dollar bin that has holes in the sides for my scrap ribbon...just pull the ends through the holes.
Love those flip top jars. Great in the bathroom too for swabs and cotton squares. Thanks to my DH for eating so many sandwiches! Also, the microwave plates from frozen dinners...they have compartments to organize small stuff for your current project.
Love all these ideas! I just might try the cd storage for my stamp pads...really like that idea. I also use the Velveta cheese boxes to store my ink refills.
I use a cookie sheet for a lap tray, use it to catch all the "flying rubber" when I trim & assemble my new stamps while watching t.v..
Also (I am the queen of cheap) I recently re-organized my stamping room & wanted my shelves to look PRETTY and eliminate the clear storage containers. (You see all the mess inside the container) I re-cycled my Stampin' Up shipping boxes by covering them with "Pretty Fabric" and arranged them on my shelves. I mixed them up with a few new storage baskets...looks so nice! No more see-through mess!
Two that I haven't seen that I find handy are oatmeal containers and plastic, screw top peanut butter and Planter's nut jars.
I use the oatmeal containers (large and small sizes both fit great) to store SU ribbon. Once I get a spare moment I plan to drill small holes at the sides so the ribbon just pulls through.
My other favorite is to store practically everything (prima flowers, spots, reinkers, paperclips, small stamps, etc. in those plastic screw top containers. I can fit 2 rows of peanut butter and 1 row of planter's nut jars perfectly in my cupboard drawers. No more junky drawers.
Rachel
P.S. We eat a lot of peanut butter, nuts, and oatmeal. ;)
I went to the dollar store and found 14 day medicine organizer boxes. Each day has a flip top and are a nice size to keep brads, eyelets, and buttons in. It worked so well that I had to go back and get some more!
I use a VHS tower to store Background stamps from SU and those stamps in the bigger cases. The kind that works best stored the videos on their side horizontally. The little "shelves" are slightly tilted so it makes it easier for me to see the stamp names, which I have put on the side of the container.
My smaller packages of stamps are on a wooden DVD rack - the kind with 2 dowels that form the "shelve" and a slider to hold them in place.
I also was lucky enough to find an small 8 track carousel that I use to store my SU ink pads. It works great but I need another because that one is full. I have a lot of the older SU pads and they are stored in a cassette tower.
I use the screw, nut and washer holders that are found in hardware stores for my embellishments and an over the door shoe holder for my punches.
I think I have had more fun in finding new ways to use old things than I have in stamping but not by much!

I don't use an 8-track holder but I DO use a wooden cassette holder for my ink pads (the in colors, retired colors, neutrals, crafts and spectrum - the rest are in the caddy.) They come in all sizes and can be mounted on the wall (mine is on top of my desk.) I also use an old VHS rack - the kind with two rows for putting the tape boxes in - for my rolls of ribbons.
My final fav - not easy for all to come by - is a wire 2-liter rack that a store was getting rid of. It's perfect for stacking my designer and 12x12 papers on! So lucky my DH runs across these on the job!
I have a box that a gift from Harry and David's arrived in. It's super-heavy cardboard and it has a bunch of interior dividers. I use it (without the lid) to hold colored pencils, markers and a variety of other items.
I also keep a bunch of clean cream cheese/margarine tubs on my work space to hold water for watercoloring, or as a "safe place" for embellishments and other goodies that could go stray before I get around to using them.
I like to use these little stackable jars that you get at the $ store. They come in three sizes and are perfect for small embellishments. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I cut scalloped tags with my sizzix from the sides of cereal boxes. I used the tags to wrap ribbon on and I store them in a 12"x12" paper storage box. I found a couple of old DMC embroidery display trays at a craft store and got them for $3.00 each. I used our jig saw and cut them to fit in the boxes and the tags fit perfectly and stay upright. I bought a cassett carry case that stores my old style Stampin Up stamp pads and is handy to take to stamp camps. I am currently storing my Cuttlebug embossing folders and my nestabilities in top loading lunch boxes I bought to alter. Cereal boxes are great for using instead of chipboard for cut outs and book covers.

Hi, I have put all my card scraps by colour into my colour coded shoeboxes.
Easy to find what I need.
