Hi Ladies !!
Hot off the heels of Mad-City Madness we have decided to organize a Shoebox Swap in Friendship at the Community Center:-D June 14 from 10-3, lunch, snacks and tons of fun with optional additional swaps. The fee is $25 to cover the cost of the center, food and prizes.
ALL MONEY WILL BE USED FOR THE SWAP. We can easily accomidate 40 people, there will be a Garage Sale Area, Door Prizes,
Favorite Card prize (all participants will vote) and a Book Challenge!! The winner of the book challenge will get a great prize. Any notebook, legal pad (regular or mini) Bind it all book, just be creative. The entries for the book challenge will not be returned but you are going to win a prize worth over $40 for 1st place (prize based on minimal participation). The more people we can get to come the better the prizes will be.
Melissa Varga and Elaine Wilson will be working on this together. The registration form will be up by Friday. Registration Deadline is May 3, and final totals will be sent out on May 5 with all the numbers for each section.
Hope this doesn't confuse anyone. We are taking a vote on the best day to have this. Here are your choices:
Saturday, June 7, 2008
Saturday, June14, 2008
We will go with the date that works best for the most people. Please have your preference to me by noon Friday, March 28, 2008. The registration form and tip sheet will be posted Friday night along with the sign-up sheet. I will update the sign-up sheet twice a week until the deadline. Then a final count will be posted to show how many people signed up for each optional swap.
Here we go! The Registration Form and General Information form are both attached. Looks like Saturday, June 14 is the official date, you can set-up at 9:30 a.m. and we will begin stamping at 10:00 a.m. The sign up list will be posted Tuesday and updated twice a week. If you can not download these please email me, [email protected] and I will email them to you.
OK, New Computer, New format...Hopefully back on track.
The deadline has been moved to May13,2008 to make up for trouble with the forms not being compatable for everyone. Please email or PM me if you are planning on attending. I hope to start posting the list of people next week (once the Craft Bazaar is finished, this Saturday 9-3 at the Big Flats Town Hall) and will continue to update as needed.
Thanks for all your input and suggestions,
Melissa
Hi Everyone!!!
If you happen to be in the area there is the 2nd Annual Craft Bazaar at the Big Flats townhall this Saturday from 9-3. I have to be there because I organize it, and Elaine should be there (just look for the trail of hershey's kiss wrappers) I'm going to bribe her with chocolate:mrgreen: . Hope to see anyone that can make it! Tons of fun original crafts and direct distributers too. Great gifts for Mother's Day.
I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS...
I lived in Adams during Jr high and no one has EVER heard of it. SO i just wanted to do a shout out from IL...where I live now. I have never lived somewhere I loved as much as A-F!!
Yes...I will be at the craft show. Enticing me with Hershey Kisses works every time!
How old are you Geriann ? I have lived here my whole life and might of went to school with you. I am 47 and graduated in the class of 79.

I'm turning 45. You are right between my sister ALicia and other sister Theresa. I went to friendship school when it was in the catholic church for 5th grade...do you remember that? I forget the name of the church...and then in 6th grade, was in the actual school until we moved.
My maiden name was Hanley and I was best best friends with Laurie Woodruff
and in lovvvvve with Dan Allen and Russell Guslowski
We were prison kids...my dad moved there to oversee the building of the prison in Oxford
Hi ladies!
Just a quick note to say save money for the garage sale by riding together if you live close to each other! Bring your gently used or forgoten craft items to sell at the swap.
Take a day for yourself to spend with friends doing what you love. You deserve it!!!!
Hey Geri Ann...
I remember Alicia. Remembered the Hanley name right away. I played with Laurie too growing up and I am very good friends with her mother. I had lunch with Jeannette last week.
I didn't go to school in the church but do remember that. Dan Allen still lives here and just married, I think in the last five years. Can't place Russell so don't know if he is still here or not. You should come for a class reunion. It would be fun for you to see everyone. Laurie lives in Sun Prairie, near Madison. She has twin daughters.
Elaine
Hmm...Have to think about this one. That's only a hop, skip and a jump away from me.

I asked Melissa about the registrations and she said that she has had interest and people say they were going to come but hasn't received any registrations yet. She is getting a little discouraged. Come on gals....this will be a blast! Get those registrations sent in so we can start a list and get the momentum going!!!!!
It pains me to post this, but the Friendship Swap is no longer going to happen on June 14. We just did not get enough people able to attend. I feel in my heart that a swap should be bigger than a stamp camp. With the price of gas it just would not be logical to have people drive that far from all directions if we could not provide great prizes and enough new card ideas to make it worth the drive.
Ladies if there is a better time when we could try to do this please let me know. If we can all come up with a time that will work out for at least 20 people then I would be willing to organize this. Summer is out because I have the Muddy 13 and Northwoods Racing Series to organize, and June 14 was the only weekend I don't have an event.
All checks received will be returned to sender.
Thank you ladies for all of your interest,
Melissa
