With the way things are going, I'll be lucky if I can get in. I'm waiting to see my name on the list tomorrow when she gets the mail. I was hoping she'd have it Saturday but no such luck....after all the mail leaves from here, goes down to Champaign and then to their destinations....that's what the Postal lady told me when I talked with her about the slow mail. We'll see tomorrow Dawn
Now on a VERY happy note; did you all see that our Super-Star Stamper Meg Shumaker... aka WAXYO is now a Dirty Girl! Well she's always been dirty worthy in our eyes, but now it's official! Meg; I am so happy for you! You deserve it girlie!
Thanks, Sarah! I can't wait to stamp with this group in March!

I think I already mentioned her, but please put Sharon Sehorn (Sisterchick) on the waiting list. I posted about her a while back and she is not able to get online right now. Her payment & registration went out to you last week.
We are really going to have a big crowd. neat!

Since we will definitely be filled up, how many cards do we need to make? I am assuming you are going to break us apart in to a couple of groups. Thanks for all your hard work!

One more quick question, My sis and our friend mistakenly said yes to the ATC trade thinking it was the hand stamped gift exchange. Is there anyway to take their names off that list? They really don't want to mess up the others participating in that trade.

Don't worry about the ATC thing... I will remove you from the list...
As far as groups and numbers go; all the information about how this swap will work is in the registration HERE. Since we are at a Maximum number of participants each group will have 40 people in it. You are also to bring Seven completed swaps for the star stampers and myself!
Thanks! And especially thanks everyone for all the nice words!

Would you email me at sarah at stampstars dot com with your full names?
OK; I just received a paypal echeck from someone. From this point forward; January 16th, 2007... I will not only return/refund paypal fees; but I will charge any appropriate fees to you as well. In addition; refunding a paypal account may not happen immediately, and I will not be responsable refund fees or if in the event your money is tied up for several days.
I need to look into how to do the paypal refunds... But I doubt it's an immediate thing.
ok... it looks like paypals refunded immediately aren't charged any fees... but if I am wrong about this I am sorry and I can not be held responsible for those who have to be refunded. Sorry!
Yes! I used to be 'referee' at our local nursing home on the nights that they'd play, and then we played at a church get together not to long ago. Don't know it well enough to just sit down and play without having to be refreshed on the rules, but I remember it well enough to know that it can be a REALLY fun game!!
If we are in groups of 40 would we be making 40 of other's cards PLUS the 7 from our *stamp stars* to come home w/ a total of 47 cards?? Or am I counting wrong? :?
And BUNCO is fun from when I have played...just don't ask me to keep score ;)
How many are planning on staying overnite at the Hotel Indigo??? I hope lots and lots of us!!!! Just waitin on the word to call them w/ our group name for our group rate!!

I think the 7 completed cards for the stars are to be completed at home before we come............so then a total of 40 to make that day. Does that sound right?
I'm not sure what hotel we're going to stay in. My DH is coming with me, and he wants to find one that we can check into early, then he can just hang out there while I'm playing. I'm supposed to be looking into that now, but I just can't seem to steer my page from the SCS pages!

yes this is right. Each of the stampstars will be bringing a card for you as well. This is EXTREME Stamping baby! But last time we made 30 cards and we had 2 less hours... so we can do it!
Some people (people like me who stamp slow) choose to just stamp the images and take a picture of the sample... leaving the assembly for home. But some people finished early! (show offs)
Sarah, I just saw your post above - do you have me down for the waiting list? I requested it in post #237. I wasn't sure if the above list was the whole waiting list or not so I wanted to check.
I am so, SO hoping this opens back up since I planned an entire family weekend getaway around this and made my mom buy a plane ticket from Florida to take care of my 2-year old while I stamp.... I guess I should have actually sent you my form sooner. :( :(

yes... you are on the waiting list. I will put together a formal waiting list post tonight with a list in the correct order.
Everyone who posted after my announcement post is on the wait list if they asked to be. And they will be contacted in that order.
Okay, hope this isn't a dumb question, but since we are going to (theoretically, because like you, I am a slow stamper) make 40 cards, when we make our samples for folks to stamp, we should shoot for a card than can be done in ten minutes or less, like a real 'live' Take Ten magazine?

Probably a good idea... nothing crazy! I know some people were planning to pre-prep some elements if there is embossing or something involved.
Remember; no embossing or glitter!
And don't do something that takes drying time... as we need to stamp and move on!
Is it typical to put all the pieces for one card in one baggie for guests as they rotate through my/a station?? I mean, would that help move things along....grab a baggie, empty it, or stamp what you want/need, then put it in the baggie and move on?? or is that too complicated and we should just have stacks of cardstock, brads, whatever??? for our station?? I know you mentioned t hat we each should bring some baggies, but would it help for us/me to have them prebagged for the others??

Good question! I was planning on having all my stuff "pre-bagged."
What would you like us to do, Sarah?

You can prebag if you'd like; but some people will probably not pre-bag. I will suggest prebagging in the final notes/instructions that will be emailed to every one, but some will forget. This is is why I suggest you bring a bunch of baggies too.

OK; the list of checks received today has been added to the list. Note that #6 had been left off for some reason; so it looks weird... but I added it to the end.
Some of you will be very happy that your payments arrived today. I know some of you are very sad you did not make the list yet; but hold hope!
Just to further clairify; this is the order in which I am excepting the final registrations until we hit the magic #86
1. Payments arriving for applicants who have already registed. They will have until 1/26 to pay or their spots will be released.
2. Checks arriving in the mail postmarked before 1/14
3. Waiting list.
I will begin contacting waiting list people on 1/27 if spots remain. If I contact you (via SCS'er PM) you will have 48 hours to respond to my PM or your spot will be given to the next person on the list.
REMINDER: to get on the list; PLEASE add yourself or your friend to this thread!

I just want to make sure I clairified this well;
Bring suppies to MAKE 40 FULL CARDS
BRING SEVEN FULL CARDS WITH YOU; COMPLETED for the superstar stampers and for me/donation... you will stamp 47 cards at the event. The superstars and myself are bringing a card for you to STAMP at the event.
if you get there on time and stamp at a rate of 8-9 cards an hour you should be FINE!
