I am between Columbus and Canal Winchester!!! We go to church in Pickerington. A transplant from ORRVILLE!!!! lol (I saw you Wayne & Stark county girls on here.)
Hi all! I like watching this thread so I can see all the Ohians! There sure are a lot of us!
I need anyone from Liberty Twp and West Chester (North of Cinci) to help me, if at all possible. We are moving there in a month (from Beavercreek, suburb of Dayton) and I have some questions about the school system. We have always gone to private schools but I have heard that Lakota is really good. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not in West Chester but I have cousins and nieces at Lakota...it's an excellent school system! Here is a link that will give you some fast facts:
I have a relative that finished his stint in the military and then had several offers from companies all over the US. Before deciding which city to move to, he had a company that researches schools give him top picks in public schools. Lakota was one of them and he moved to West Chester. It's a great place to live and you'll be very happy with the schools.
Another Ohioian here. I'm north of Columbus between Westerville and Mt. Vernon on RT36 in the small village of Centerburg. Anyone in my general vicinity??

I'm in Cincinnati too. Someone already mentioned Stampaway. There will also be Artiscape in April of 2008. The liat of classes should be up later this week at http://europeanpapers.com. Normally this is held in the Columbus area, but she is having it in Sandusky due to issues with the previous venue. Breaks up the time to Stampaway

Can you tell me more about it? I live in Sandusky.

This is a mixed media event rather than a stamp or scrapbooking convention. Classes in the past have been on bookbinding, art journals, polymer clay, jewelry, collage, etc. There is a marketplace with vendors on Saturday. The gal who runs it owns European Papers in Columbus and has created the ATC wizard. People do trades and socialize so I actually started another thread to see if anyone wanted to do a SCS get togehter.
This year it's at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center April 10-13, 2008. If you're local, though, you wouldn't have to stay there. You could just check out the marketplace. I just checked the website and classes aren't listed yet but should be this week.

Lisa is still working on updating the Artiscape 2008 info. However, she does have updated info about the social events that will be happening there. Don't try to register just yet though. Apparently, that is not yet up and running.
Enon is just up the road (NE) from Fairborn, towards Springfield.
I was surprized to see this thread. I live in the Fairborn area, 3 miles from WPAFB. We just started a "sidelines" group of SU! Demo's who are mostly AF wives that are here temporarily. If you would like to be included, let me know and I'll get you connected. We are thinking about having a shoebox swap too, after Christmas, so let me know if you would like information about that also.

HI All...I live in Birmingham, but my mailing address is Wakeman Oh...About 50 miles west of Cleveland and 20 miles east of Cedar PT. I grew up in Elyria, lived a few short yrs in Jackson. Hubby is from Ft. Recovery. I am willing to travel most anywhere, schedule permitting. I see many familiar cities...DS goes to UT, DD to Kent, have family all over the state, Piqua, Sidney, Troy, Beaver Creek, Cincinnati, Chilicothe, Marion, Columbus, Mt. Sterling, Grove Port...I go Columbus often for work, too. Just let me know!
Lisa has all her workshops and special events listed for this Sandusky, Ohio happening April 2008. I just signed up for the weekend pass and four classes. I am taking Mike Meador's Construction with a Battery (just got back from San Francisco where I saw the Joseph Cornell special exhibit and really want to learn how to light up and add movement to my shrines and assemblages), Sexy Plexi (plexiglass jewelry), Game Board Encaustic Shrines with Elaine Madrid, and Art Crayon Madness with Mary Jo McGraw. There are alos bookbinding, collage, color theory, polymer clay, calligraphy etc. Even if you are not sure about taking classes, I urge you to go to the Marketplace (which is open to the public) because she has a small, but excellent selection of vendors.
Hi girls! Just wanted to direct you attention to the thread in "Get It Together" for a shoebox swap I'm planning for February 9, 2008. Please check it out. Hopefully some of you will be able to attend. Let me know if you have any questions.
Haven't been bumping this due to the holidays, but I got my registration packet in the mail yesterday. I know a few classes have sold out already, but if you aren't sure that this is your cup of tea, you can just come to the marketplace on Saturday afternoon. My sister (also an SCSer) is coming and we thought that it would fun to get together sometime on Saturday afternoon with other SCS folks, maybe do lunch and trades. Please feel free to PM me on this.
I think it would be fun to get together and swap too. Let me know what the plans are. Also, if you need help with any of the planning let me know. I only live a few minutes away from Kalahari.
Cindy
Hello from Circleville Ohio. We are just about 20 miles south of Columbus. We have a wonderful stamping group that meets (normally) the third Thursday of each month. We are about 25 strong and growing. My sister lives in Copley, so it was good to hear from that area. We also go to Holo's everyone here is usually ready for a road trip!
