I am hosting my first ever shoebox swap in an effort to meet fellow SCS'ers in person.
I have room for 11 stampers plus myself to stamp in comfort at my home in Puyallup (South Hill). It will also be a potluck dinner and I will provide beverages.
Date: Saturday March 29th
Time: 6:00 PM
Shoebox Swap Information:
This is a Non Vendor Specific swap but since many of those who've signed up are SU Demo's I'm sure current SU items would be appreciated. Quality CS is a MUST!
We will make FULL cards using at least one accessory (ribbon, brads, buttons, etc).
Please have all card pieces pre-cut.
Please bring stamps or other items for your project that are not in the basic supply kit.
Please include instructions (aka: recipes), tips and any other important information.
Please bring ONE EXTRA completed card:You will use this as your sample in your stamping kit.
You are not limited to just making cards. You may make other projects keeping in mind it should not take more than 10-12 mins to complete.

This sounds like so much fun and I'm bummed that I can't go...I work Grave yard at that is my Friday...I'm glad to see a couple Rainy day stampers on here! Have fun you guys!
Totally understand what you are saying and I agree you can never be too safe! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! I am thinking of what I want to make too. I am thinking of something with a little humor ;).
Oh wowzer! I can't wait for this event, Sarah! Thanks for thinking of it and hosting--you are so motivated, girl! I already know and love Simonne and I can't wait to meet the rest of my SCS gf's from the NW, yay (Maren, special shout out to u, your gallery and blog ROCK!) ~Hugs and Have A Great Weekend~
Linsey- You are TOO sweet! I must say that you are rocking that Just So Hoppy set (you convinced me that I needed it!) these days! Love your window card and that window shade card is SO SO fabulous! Inspiring! I can't wait to see what you and all these other amazing gals come up with! I am feeling a bit of pressure here..... :-)
I know that many of you are probably busy visiting with family and such on the weekends but please let me know if you would like to go shopping....:-) Say Amuse, Impress, or some other fantastic rubber/acrylic/embellishment establishment on Saturday afternoon before the swap. I currently live in Kennewick but grew up in Auburn. I will be staying at my parent's house for that weekend and can't resist shopping as it is quite limited in my town! :-) No worries if you are busy....I will hit them solo if needed. My kids will need some grandma time! :-)
See you soon!
Wow Maren, you're coming all the way from Kennewick? I'm honored! Auburn will be a quick drive home from my place, only about 15 minutes.
I would go shopping with you but I'm guessing I'll be cleaning the house (really just watching DH clean) and preping last minute for my swap. I always seem to discover something better than what I've planned just before I demo or swap, it never fails. You'll have to bring your treasures with you so we can see your finds!

Woo Who! I'm so excited to finally meet you in person AJ! Will we get to see a sample with your Unity Stamps?
Me too~ You're a celeb AJ! Will you have time for autograhps? Seriously though, I can't wait to meet all of you!
We're going to have so much fun! I am forcing myself to finish my online swap I signed up for first before playing around with ideas for our Puyallup meeting

See you on the 29th!

Kelly sent me a PM with a question I thought would be good to respond to all on. She asked if I will have 12 stations or if we will stamp the projects together one at a time.
In my head and after looking at other swaps like this posted here I planned to leave the projects put in their spot at the table and have us be mobile so we get the chance to meet eachother (and we don't all fight to sit next to AJ...LOL) .
Here's my set up so you all can chime in with ideas if you know of something that works well for this style of a shoebox swap...
I have two tables that each seat 6 comfortable (each person has their own SU splat mat for working area with some table space around it for supplies. One is in my formal dining room and other in my kitchen nook. Both are only about 5' from eachother seperated by french doors. I do have room to put the tables end to end but then one suffers with no direct lighting overhead.
I thought we could each designate a space for our project at a table and no supplies are to move from that spot, just your personal kit of adhesive, scisors, yada, yada, yada. Then no one has to round up their supplies.
That also leaves my kitchen and living room open for mingling and munching if you need a break from stamping.
Sorry for the long post on this! I have done several large classes and crops here with up to 18 girls but never 12 seprate projects. If anyone had ideas please chime in! Maybe we should have less shoebox swaps and others can bring completed swaps to drop in the kits for those who brought the shoebox? Ahhh... I'm not sure now

Oh, fantastic! I am so so excited!
Krystie- Maybe we can meet at Impress up in Bellevue and then hit Amuse as we head south?? Is there another place you think we should go too or in lieu of the others?? I have only been to Impress in Kent. I heard that Rubber Soul in Redmond has closed.
Abby- Are you south of Seattle? We could always carpool....I will be coming from Auburn.
I can pm later to get numbers and finalize the plan! So fun!! :-)

There's a small shop in Sumner, can't remember the name at the moment but will find out this week. It's about 10 minutes away from my house. You could make that a final stop on your way here if your wallets are not empty yet
I swung by Monkey Love stamps this morning and picked up a good stash.

Sarah~ stations would be a great idea I think. We can make it work!

The Impress at Southcenter is the biggest and best one. Another store close to my house is Packaging Specialties. They have tons of boxes, bags, ribbons, alterables. Fun stuff in there, might be worth a stop!
Wow, I would so love to come (from Olympia/Lacey area)--but I'm on call that weekend. Boohoo ... there is a scrapbooking shop near my home (and more importantly, I-5!) called A Little Bit of Heaven; lots of coordinating papers, a wall of stamps for sale, and a clearance rack, so I stop in occasionally (as if I don't have enough stuff). I believe there is at least one other such shop in the Olympia area, but I've not been inside, just driven by; it's toward/near downtown Olympia.
Have lots of fun, I hope you will do this again, and I can join you next time!
I live in Milton right next to Auburn so that would great to carpool!
Just curious what kind of stuff is everyone doing? I was throwing around the idea of bringing candles for everyone to learn to stamp on candles or is that something everyone already knows how to do?
I can do a card if that is preferred just let me know. THANKS!
