Spending the last day of my trip to the UK quietly contemplating what stamping and crafting I should do when I get home with all my things around me! Hoping to get some inspration from either SCS or Pinterest as to what my kits should consist of. Decisions, decisions!!! Looking forward to getting together with Garnet for lunch before the event. Will call or message you when I have been home for a few days, Garnet.
I'm so disappointed for myself but I'm going to make someone on the waiting list happy - I'm not going to be able to make it as it is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and we now have friends from out of town coming for that weekend. Looking forward to seeing the friends but I'm really sorry to miss the shoebox swap. Is there any way I can be informed when there is another one?
Many thanks,
Susan

Canadian Thanksgiving is always the second Monday in October so depending on how the dates work out, the first Saturday might not be the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Hopefully I can make it next year.

Please feel free to add to our prize stash. You know those things you bought (beads, ribbons, brads et cetera) that you were positive you would use someday? Put whatever you want to pass along in a paper bag--- like a lunch sack.
I have come up with a brilliant idea (at least, for my tiny brain it's brilliant) for drawing for prizes. Bring a bag or two of fun items and we'll have a ball "winning" each other's stuff.
Garnet, so sorry I haven't sent you my check yet- will go in the mail today!
I do have some goodies bagged up- a new Cuttle bug folder for one
Got my card planned, just need to sit and start cutting!
Hope you are well! Looking so forward to seeing everyone soon!
Martha
I have been doing absolutely nothing today. Saturday I "saved" a whole bunch of ideas from the Viva La Verve challenges just because I can. Have no idea if that is what I will use in October. BUT.... I better get busy.
Last night, found the cutest free digital at Birdie Brown's. I just might have to color 20 of her apple trees between now and October. Naaah... I'l color 6 for Operation Write home.
Hope you will begin "chatting" with each other. I am swamped with the house building project. Would like to see what all of you are up to as you prepare for the swap.
But my own brain is frazzled. Haven't even planned my card yet.
Good Morning Stampers
Missie, Jenn and I spent all day Sunday working on our cards!
it was fun and happy to report we are 80% done getting our kits ready..
all cards are planned:
2 birthday
1 Christmas
that's all I'll say!
see you all soon
Missie,Jenn and I will each bring at least on mystery bag .

Finally, finally, finally figured out what type of card I'm going to do! I was really stumped! Now to figure out the stamps and colors I'm going to use.

Hi Karen, My new home is about 1 mile from the church. I just got a bicycle so that some days I can pedal and save $$ on gas. I am not totally sure on a move in date but it might be Tuesday, the 9th.
No... I did not plan on moving day being so close to the swap date. Original idea was that it would be the first of December. But sub-contractors are all anxious for more jobs, so the put in long hours.
Maybe those who want to take a look can have "the guided tour" after we are finished with the swap.
Good Morning PNW stampers!!!!
I'm happy to say my card kits all 20 are ready my 2 cards made..
for my cards you'll need glue! I will bring what I use. BUT if you have your special glue please bring it.. Jenn & Missie are ready too.
Garnet they are on a time crunch so no house tour for us.. BUT I would love a rain check.

Reminder: Check post #2 to make sure you have all the stuff you need in your Tool Kit. Everyone should have her own glue, tape, dots, scissors, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.......
I'm working on my card kits today. Hoping that Alex and I did NOT pack anything into the moving boxes that I planned to use.
Does anyone know Laurie's "real" name? We have one open spot. Heather did not respond and I cannot send a PM to Laurie. Was hoping she would see this post.
Waiting for response from either Laurie or Samantha. Whoever answers first will be "in".
Hi Garnet!
Sorry, I gave up and made other arrangements =( I am soo disappointed! Ugh! And I made the plans just the day before you posted this =( Hopefully next year!
I know that some of you like to shop in Bellingham before heading home to Skagit/Snohomish. Stores now have to charge 5 for paper bags. Most sell the nice reusable ones too.
Just thought of this yesterday when I forgot to bring a bag into Joann's.
HI guys, I know this is off topic, but is there a general get it together thread for Washington? I have tried searching and this is the only one that comes up. I am new to the area and am hoping to make friends and find some cool shops. Ms and Js are nice, but actual stamp and paper crafting stores are so much more fun! I am in Federal Way. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a Splitcoast forum called Get It Together. I didn't see any new events on there, but did notice the Washington State Roll Call. If you scroll through the posts you will find some from your part of the state.
I do drive past Federal Way regularly. If my grey head remembers, I will let you know next time I'm going that way.
Also, the Operation Write Home "office" is in Federal Way. Sandy mails TONS of cards overseas to military personnel. She also might put you in touch with other local stampers.
If the project I'm bringing is a card, am I supposed to supply the envelope too or just the components of the card
For regular size cards 4.25 x 5.5 you don't need to bring envelopes. Most of us buy that size in bulk.
BUT if your card is an odd size, bigger or smaller than the "norm" please bring envelopes that match. You might get a few back as some of us save all our swap cards for inspiration.
On Saturday Alex came over and we filled up 15 prize bags. We are counting on 3 more bags from Cindy & Friends and 1 from Martha to make a total of 19.
Garnet, I am not going to be able to attend this weekend. Please let someone on the waiting list attend in my place. Thanks you for understanding. Dorothy Johnson.
