...another Shoebox Swap for Whatcom and Skagit counties and Lower BC(or for anyone beyond those borders who just loves to play with stamps).
Date... Saturday, October 8th. Time... 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
8:30 - 9:00 = arrival and coffee Place... Laurel Church(just north of Bellingham, WA) Registration fee... $10 ($3 for the church and $7 for the fun stuff)
Here’s the Plan...
Design a project (card, basket, box, etc) Create 19 kits of your project. Put the kits in a shoebox or basket Each shoebox will be set at a marked space (2 shoeboxes x 10 tables). Attendees/swappers will move from project to project. (this worked much better than when we used to pass the projects around) Some people will finish faster than others, but there is plenty of space to work side by side when needed. Each of us will go home with 19 new projects.
Prizes... Lots of goodies for everyone!
Door prizes!
AND vote for your favorite project.
Registration list... Strictly limited to 20 swappers. I will add a waiting list if necessary.
Please...It is easier if each attendee is a Splitcoast member and signs up on her own. "Group" sign-ups are confusing to me.
Send your registration fee to... Garnet Parker
327 Beard Road
Lynden, WA 98264
Your project... * 20 kits (19 for us gals to make + 1 in case there are any mistakes)
* any "stuff" we will need to create your project
* 1 completed item so we can see what were making
* 1 completed item to enter in the Vote for Best Project.
* Your own tape, glue, pop-dots, scissors, pen, pencils et cetera. In other words, a small tool kit to carry with you from project to project. * If you have extra cards at home that you would like to donate to the church's card ministry, we would be delighted to have them.
Preparation: * Design and create your card or other item.
* Assemble 2 finished items one for the working table and one for the "vote here" table.
* Prepare enough pieces for 20 duplicates. Do a good bit of the cutting and stamping ahead of time. We will basically be assembling the projects while sharing fun and laughter.
* Using 20 small bags or envelopes make a kit for each of the gals attending. * Be sure to print 20 copies of your instructions... one for each gal.
* You do not need to provide tape and glue for your project.... each swapper should bring her own.
Sack Lunch... This worked well last year and no leftovers!
Name Tag... Create your own name tag. Make it a piece of artwork that you can be proud to wear.
Janitors request... No loose glitter. No embossing powder. Those things get in the carpet and stay for months. Stickles are fine. Watercolors and chalk are great.
Hi Garnet, thanks for the invite. I will try to come this year. But I was wondering if I could bring one or 2 friends. I have to check with them when I return from Florida. But sign me up anyway! Thanks, Karen
Hi Garnet please sign up my friend Dorothy for your shoebox swap. I am still waiting to hear back from my two other friends. Thanks again for the invite. I look forward to seeing you again.

Friends are welcome if you can get them registered before we are full.
Hi Garnet,
Thank you for all that you do! You are truly amazing. Yes I would love to come. Sign me up and remember to assign me a job of some kind to help out.

Thanks for the complement. I do not feel amazing. Happy to plan a PARTEEEE!
For a couple of years I have posted something that Cindy said... "Do most of the stamping and cutting ahead of time. We all know how to stamp and cut."
Last October there was some feedback regarding items that had been stamped a bit off center or not cut perfectly square.
And, it was brought to my attention that some gals actually use the cards we make at the swap and mail them out. I always just keep them in my "idea stash", where perfection doesn't matter. (My copies are probably way less perfect anyway.)
That said:
My request is only this.... do the very best you can. If there is a small slip-up, then one card may not be useful for mailing. And, since I'm feeling cranky today, I'll say. "So what?! Make your own version."
Hi Garnet...thank you so much for the invite! Would love to come, but I am already booked that day. I would be pleased to help you with the event in some way though, so let me know you have a job for me. It's the least I can do since I have enjoyed the event so many times before! Hope to join you guys next time! Please email me if you have a job for me: [email protected]

Hello Garnet, I'd like to offer to make up a couple of prize "goodie bags" to help out if that's ok.
Going to send out my $ today.
Let me know if you need anything else. I can be there early to set up.
thanks so much for organizig us all!
I'm going to start planning my card today!
Hello Garnet, I mailed my check Monday night, you should get it tomorrow. Should have dropped it off when I took my son to work at Rader Farms, would have been quicker , ha ha.
One person has asked whether there will be space for selling used stamps and other wonderful stuff. Yes, I'm sure we can accommodate that. Please let me know if you are bringing a bunch of stuff. I want to make sure we have enough tables set out.
