P.S.
Also....I'm from Indiana...born there. When my parents split my mom eventually moved to Texas so I was back and forth between them from age 8 to 12. During that time we lived in Sweeney, Brazoria and West Columbia.
DH and I moved from Indiana to Grapevine in 2004 for a new job; then we moved to The Woodlands/Spring area in 2006.
I love Texas! DH and I are trying to convince family and friends to move here!
I haven't posted on here in a long time... but I guess I can finally post that we are under 90 days from moving back from Germany to TX! Yee-Haw! Dallas, Fort Worth, HERE WE COME! ;)
...born in West comma Texas....husband was military...lived and traveled in wonderful places....back in central texas...both retired last three years...livin on island time on Lake Whitney....hugs, Fran

Oh YUM - I love the bakeries in West! Have so much trouble choosing kolaches that I just get one of each (of as many as I can afford). Haven't been down that way in awhile - maybe it's time to check the wildflowers on the highway....

I just stumbled across this thread and thought I'd add to the list of Texans here. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved down here in '93. I live in Katy which is a suburb of Houston.
As I was scanning through some of the posts, I noticed others from Katy as well!
So is there going to be a get together planned maybe by the major cities??
You "know" me so well!!
I spent a few days with Granny Hawkins in Atlanta & since we are both on a lifestyle eating habit change we brought our own snack foods to the hotel. My cracker of choice are wheat thins & hers are Whales (Wallmart Goldfish wannabes) I dared her to change her name but she wouldn't ;) but I did. I guess it's one of those "You would have to have been there" Bwahahahahaeaux!!! But thanks for noticing!

Hi Terri,
I live in Katy--old town Katy to be exact close to Katy Jr High. I have been a demo for two years. Too bad you can't make it to Maggie's Shoebox swap. I signed up for that and hope to meet other Houston stampers.
Ilene
We are practically neighbors! Our DD attends KJH and we live in Heritage Meadows next to Rhodes Stadium.:-D
It sure would be fun to have a shoebox swap for SCS'ers in Katy/West Houston. I had a conflict and couldn't sign up for the one in Cy-Fair in February.
HOWDY, Y'all and Gig'em Ags. Texas born 'n bred. Born Houston, spent 10 years in Brazosport, back to Houston, then Dime Box, Brenham and San Marcos. Went up north once, liketa froze, came home fast.
Texas, here I come . . . I'm moving to Beaumont in 28 days!
For my husband, it will be moving 'home' . . . he grew up in Hillsboro, went to A & M, and most of his family is in the Houston area. For me, I'll be moving 'back' . . . I lived in Houston (very) briefly in the 80s. I'm hoping to meet some SCSers in real life once I get down there!

Wow, we are practically neighbors! You are walking distance from me. I would love to meet you. I will PM you my name and phone number.
I checked out your blog and it's very good. Your projects are really beautiful! Also, please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your brother.
I am a Canadian girl living in the great Hill Country area of Texas. I love it here and it is now one year ago that I was granted my American citizenship. Two things that I dislike about Texas...the scorpions and large snakes! I miss Canada though and I wasn't allowed to tell the immigration lady that I will always be a Canadian first.
I'm in Port Arthur! It's so nice to see some peeps around me. :-D :-D

I'm taking my first trip to Archiver's tomorrow. Any suggestions? My sister and I will be skipping away from our brother's bbq ( near H6 & I10) for a couple of hours .. heading west ....
