These containers look very close to the containers that electrical tape comes in. My hubby has been saving these for me from his work and now I have another possible use for them.
Thanks to Card Shark for posting this :-)

I too saw this on her blog, and she's a genius!!!! The containers are the Stampin' Up! ones that most embellishments come in. The empty containers can be ordered also, if you don't have any to use the embellies out of. They are the Stack 'n Store containers and are $3.95 for 6.
That's pretty cool. I've been looking for Twine Storage. Cause I hate it when it get's junked up.
I might have to come up with another idea. Cause I don't have any of those containers.
You can always buy them from Stampin'Up....they are not very expensive!
Marie shared this storage with us at our upline's meeting this past week and I LOVE IT!! I've already started converting my empty (or should I say, NOW empty!) containers!! I'll put some on my next order, but didn't want to have to wait!!
One tip...just make sure you don't put the hole too far in...otherwise, you can't get the crop-a-dile in there to smoosh the eyelet!

I think I read on the blog of the creator (or somewhere else maybe) that SU is retiring these containers. I'm sure a dollar-type store would have something just as economical.

don't have pics right now, but I buy by the spool and store in the old type of sugar jars that are on restaurant tables...to stinkin cute...not an original idea by any means...... scroll down a little Whisker Graphics
I love the twine idea! Perhaps what I love about it the most is that it can fit right where my spools of ribbon are...genius is a good word! Love coming to SCS to find out all the ideas people come up with!

Wow, I didn't even know about this thread! I don't get to this category very often. Thanks for the kind words, everyone!
I like this method because it keeps the twine clean (it picks up dust so easily) and will fit in with my other ribbons in rain gutters. I do have ribbons wound in jars by color, which are very cute in my studio. But, I find them kind of a pain and switched all my SU! ribbons to gutters. Love it!
The containers are still available if you don't have any empty ones from your buttons and brads. Stampin' Store Containers (#103649, $3.95/6). However, indeed ALL of Stampin' Up!'s eyelets have retired. :(
Thanks for the link! You have inspired me to use empty mini M&M's containers to store my bakers twine Bakers Twine Storage by aussieK at Splitcoaststampers

My BIL saves me them too, he works at a mill;) I put magnets on the back of the containers with E6000 glue and stick them all oc=ver the file cabinebt in my craft room, workds great for brads, buttons etc too!
I did the SU container and am not at all pleased. I must be confused. My crop o dile wouldn't fit to punch hole. The twine tangles.
I must be too stupid to do this.
Sounded nice, just didn't work for me.

I bought a sampler of baker's twine - small amounts in several different colors. I wound them around a wine cork (turns out I have a constant source of those) and store them in a canister. It works great - they stay wound and don't get tangled.

I will have to give this one a try. I have a good, constant supply of corks, too!
I just got my Su order today, for these containers for the same use; and it works beautifully. They also fit nicely, sideways into a velvetta cheese box, bottom, to not roll around or tip over

I was browsing the Pintrest website and saw a cute idea for storing Baker's twine. A tea ball, like you put loose tea in to make a cup of tea. They put th twine inside and pulled it out through the holes in the tea ball. I haven't tried it, but thought it was a cute idea.

PJ, if you look at the post directly on my blog Baker's Twine Dispenser, there is a tutorial, so that you can see exactly where and how to place the hole. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them. Be sure you have adjusted the throat all the way down, so that you can get it in far enough to punch the hole. It IS a tight fit setting the eyelet, but you can do it if the hole is placed close to the ridge as shown on my blog.
Also, be sure that you ribbon spool is a tight fit (but not TOO tight) in the container. If it is loose, the twine will just slip over it and end up tangled. It's one of those things that has to be "just right". If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Popsicle/craft sticks make great twine holders too. Keep them in a bowl or co ntainer.
Ooo, I like this. I lean towards wood/glass, less plastic. I don't know why. I broke a glass jar in stamp room today. Maybe I should lean more towards plastic, LOL!
I really like the look of using the SU containers but I have no ribbon spools! :( Do any of you clever crafter's have any ideas on what I can use to substitute for them? TIA!
Well after going through & purging my ribbon I have a few rolls of the American crafts ribbon. It is a small roll holding 4 ft of ribbon. The twine fits around it and it also fits great in the SU container! My only problem is my crop a dile is not working, so I guess I will have to go at it the old fashion way!
Does anyone recall where the post is for purchasing twine? One of the gals here purchased in smaller quantities which is what I would like to do!
Thanks so much & also for sharing your great storage idea!
