I've stumbled on this thread, hoping to get some inspiration for cleaning up my papercrafting corner. (I'm in a 2 bedroom condo, so my guest room has a desk and credenza/bookshelf at right angles in a corner and that's what I've got). Earlier in the year, I tackled the mess and sorted/weeded, but times of needing to make a card quickly now yields piles of assorted supplies.
In response to original question, I use something similar to this--have SU dsp in front as I use that the most--I've kept the packs together with the back sheet that has name and coordinating colors. Then I've got several sections of what I use frequently--vellums, certain themes (like Disney, travel, plaids), followed by solid colors and then shimmer/sparkly. The majority of those are not SU and single sided. At the very end are my odds and ends--college mascots, food, beach, stripes, dots. Works for me, but not everyone's idea of being organized.
