I told myself I could play with my new Gazelle as soon as I get this mess cleaned up and re-organized. I've been working on it for a couple of hours now and have made great progress. Hopefully I'll be finished before I lose the energy and motivation to "play."
online here is a lot more fun. i also wish a few hours would "do my room" sad to said it will take a couple of weeks of "real work". and i don't want to start. once you start it's worst before it gets better.

So true, Gayla! That must be why my house looks soooo bad! Craft stuff has spilled over into the kitchen, living room, dressing room, bedroom...I started out the day with the plan of putting away patterned paper but ended up cutting some, mixing and matching it to make cardfronts instead. THEN I came on to SCS and started browsing craftrooms...Colleen's is one of my favorites to drool over and dream of as mine! There is soooo much room and uninterupted counter space. I've tried - had to take a break to run some errands with my hubby and realized I need a few DVD cases, so am going out again. It doesn't help that the laundry room is next to my craft room and I have lots of laundry to do...also my oldest (junior in college) is home and her room is down here and she spends a lot of time in the TV area, which sometimes causes me to sit down with her...but I've made progress!!
i did an easy job. cleaned out my cabinets above my sink,in the kitchen
arlene even if i had that great craft room. it would never look like that. ok it would if i had a
MAID!

better to spend time w/ your girl. while she's at home. laundry & cleaning will be there to keep you company when she leaves!
As I get emails now, I'm unsubscribing from those sites I really don't enjoy. I'm also deleting stuff from My Favorites since I rarely look at most of them. Clearing out for the New Year! In Italy they throw old stuff out the windows on New Year's Eve, I believe. I missed that when I was in college in Pisa because I came home between semesters. Doesn't that sound like fun?? As long as someone else cleans it up!
YES!!! I had to do my this week, too!! We got a new frig and just shoved all the stuff from the old one to the new one with no thought of organization. ooyyiieeeee....... Much better now. Took EVERYTHING out and re-did it.

You go!! I'm not quite ready for that BIG step!!! Baby steps!! kwim?? But it is on the list of things to do the for the remainder of the week.
well i just peeked at my room. it's ugly. my dh saya to pull it all out-never. but i'm on my way back in-maybe i'll start tonight. i do work better after 11pm.
Congratulations on your Gazelle. I am an organizational junkie. I was organizing my home this week but my DH is home due to the Holiday slowness. I am not getting nothing done. My home is organized. I am doing an end of the year tweaking. Got to get ready for all the new CHA goodies, ROFL! Just enjoy playing and have fun!
I'll be cleaning up my area this weekend (Fri & Sat). It is such a mess that I hate to even be near it. I know that once it's all put away I'll be able to enjoy and create. Good Luck everyone.
Must be the season for cleaning! It's actually been cold here in central Florida for the last few days, so I've spent time organizing my craft room. I've made several piles - most to donate to teachers or "junior" crafters that I know. The only problem is - once I start scrapping or card making - it will be a mess all over again!
I'm joining you all! I started on my basement today (just storage as it is not finished), and discovered that have hundreds of jars ... canning jars, jars I thought were cute for crafting and gifts and ones I saved because I liked the shape. Good thing is it recycling day tomorrow! I saved one small box for crafting/gifts and the rest are on their way out. What a good feeling. I am also trying to organize all of my Christmas crafting items ... it really never ends! Good luck to everyone!
i just sp[ent an hour putting away 81/2 x 11 cardstock. more than 30 pks. new not counting what is already in my file drawers. do i need that more? i say it doesn't go bad. after i sort & put away everything. i'm giving myself the month of jan. then i will look through each section and clean out
hey that's my cop out line
I started my room today. I want to get shelves up and my ink storage system going. It came down when i painted the room (not saying how long ago) and the ink is just piled on my desk. Hate it. While dh is home I am having him put up all my shelving.
good job for dh. mine built eveything in my room. i love it all
Lots of family visiting past couple of days so break in organization of craft room. Really want to start new year with tidy desks !
I am desperate at painting furniture. Maybe hubby will paint shelves nice cream to blend in with room. If I have room sorted he will be motivated !
Anne aok's paper stuff
I'm waiting for my phone line to be installed (the whole house is being re-done) and then I can move everything into its place out of the boxes! woohoo!

cream is a great choice. dark colors show dust & dirt.
i'm not a fan of dark colors.
i put my back out. not sure how. not really my back more my right side. my back hip. i think from cross country skiing.
tomorrow allen and i are going to hoboken.
back monday.
the rest of the week i will put away christmas stuff. take ornaments off our 2 trees. trash the trees.
put up the rest of the house. then on to my craft craft. and my many piles in other rooms.
when i'm done i want a home for everything.
this is an old link to my craft room. allen built my drawers & shelves.
i tell my stamping friends-everyone needs an allen. he really should be cloned!

I have been cleaning out some Christmas stuff for the month of Dec and part of Nov. Being married for 43 years and having belonged to several organizations, I have a bunch of things I just couldn't part with, until last month!! A lot of things were sent to an organization that helps homeless men by having a resale shop. Also a lot to the Goodwell and Salvation Army. And I am still cleaning!!!
girls my link didn't work. i've put out an SOS to my dh & ds.
working. matthew came right downstairs.
Love your craft room Gayla. My sons and hubby sometimes ignore me when I need help on the pc. Sometimes it works when I find the answer myself
Sometimes I am so lost they have to give up and help

I did the same with my christmas decorations this year. Anything that was n't displayed or hung on the tree went to our local charity shop. No point on holding on to stuff I did nt want to use this year.
Plan to do the same with crafting bits and bobs. No point leaving them sitting on shelves gathering dust when they can give someone else some enjoyment !
