A few weeks ago I was organizing and was looking for a good way to organize my huge SU punches - I didn't want to use a curtain rod - had one of those 2 tier spinning metal baskets waiting to be used for my craft room, hadn't found anything that fit in the baskets and then realized, OMG I could hang them on the edge of this - bingo it worked!
Hopefully you can see this picture, I posted on my Pinterest from my 2peas gallery, I don't have a blog so that's the only way I could figure to post it -
16 - 8 on top and 8 down bottom - you have to stagger them so the ones in the basket below are one punch over and not directly below the one above - (refer to picture for what I mean, but that's the only way they fit in there) but they fit quite nicely/comfortably!
Alas, I'd need to get quite a few of those...and I don't think the new punches would fit so well. Sigh.
You know, what? The new punches I realized DO actually, in fact fit - but you have to unlock them first and then slip THAT end over the railing.
Didn't try it out that way to begin with, but now I know they do fit - plus there's room inside the baskets for other things! I only have 2 of the new style so I have no idea how many it would fit but I can test it out later to see -
I have too many punches in too many different styles for this to work for all of them, but this would be fabulous for keeping the most often-used ones handy! I wonder if my spinning spice rack would work the same way... Thanks for sharing this!
Well, if they made those K-cup things in a floor-standing spinning unit with at least 12 of those round shelf units so that I could fit all my punches...hmmmmm, I think I'd be snatching it up! Floor space is all I have.
Currently I use one of these: Amazon.com: Wire World 4-tier Rolling Cart, White: Home & Kitchen
I cut a couple of layers of felt on each shelf to keep things from sliding quite so much. Each shelf has 20-25 large punches on it. Smaller punches on the top and there's just as many...but it's not full.
I used a different railing from IKEA, but can't find a link for it. It was a little more expensive and I had to drill a hole, but it's longer and I liked the color better than the brushed look of the Bygel.

What a good idea for the cart! I have three of them but I never thought to use them for my punches. At present mine are on the Ikea rods in a closet with pegboard on the walls. The cart would put them right at hand. I may try putting them in the cart for the next workshop I have.
Right now I'm using the Ikea bars, but I have a rolling cart that would be put to better use with the punches. I'm think I can buy more of the baskets and cup hangers for the bars instead of the punches.
I found a wire two-tiered spinning thing at the thrift store yesterday. The checkout lady said, "Is this one of those thingies?" I said, "I have no idea what it is!" She probably thought I was some kind of crazy hoarder who bought stuff I didn't even know what it is! I haven't set it up yet but it looks like it will work just fine to hold some of my most used punches.

Thanks for posting this!!! I have been searching and searching and searching for something better than the rails for me -- unfortunately Amazon is out of stock but I'm going to check out some other places now that I have something to look for!
