I am sure glad that I didn't "resist" doing this challenge as I'm so happy with the way it turned out. I did choose the simplest resist technique that I could find. It wasn't even very messy as the acrylic paint washes off so easily.
i should actually post some pics of my trials. i've moved on to using dylusions ink spray for the background, and then micro-bead (like modeling paste, from golden) through a stencil. i colored the micro-bead paste with dylusions mister. we'll see how that one turns out - it is drying now. i read somewhere not to dry the beads with a heat gun (i think christy tomlinson's she art class).
not sure if i will actually get anything created. how weird would it be to upload my trials?

Sounds like you are having fun anyway. You could always attach thumbnails of your trials.
i just invented a technique that does NOT work I used Ranger acryllic pearl paint dauber (like Beate's video), and then somehow I had it in my head I needed to add clear embossing powder. EPIC FAIL.
I think I need to done one technique or the other, but not combine them. EITHER Versamark plus EP.... OR acryllic paint on its own.
The other thing I tried was the new illuminarte pigment pad from SU! (because I can't just find my Versamark pad right now) - and I used that with these pan pastels I have been wanting to try. It turned out ok, not great.
Thanks for the encouragement to play. I am first just trying a combo of products on different tags. When I find a combo I like, I'll hopefully design something. OR I'll just put these in my art journal.
Either way, I only gave myself until 8:30 to play today. Now it is upstairs to work.
Love what you guys are doing out there in the gallery.
Blessings,
Lela
I've invented failed techniques time and time again! One time, I wrapped my stamp blocks with rubber bands and thought they would stamp a really cool pattern...FAIL!

Thank you for this challenge, Jeanne S. Last week's challenge, using gesso, intimidated me because I don't have stuff like that. But this week's challenge helped me get over my fear and try something new, but something I had. And that's the point of challenges, isn't it?!?
I always forget about emboss resist. When I've done it the past, I usually sponged on the ink, so using a wash with reinkers was a new experience. Here's my card .

Oh my! LOL
What a great idea to try out those combinations on tags. I could see them on a ring with a short description of the technique on the back of each tag. A handy way to remember all that you come up with for future challenges.
Relax and have fun!

Couldn't resist playing again with mixed media. Though this isn't a classic resist technique, I did emboss an image then masked and spritzed and sponged around it. Mixed Media Love
Well, it took me forever once I got started, and did several do-overs (is that a word?), and I'm still not real happy with it. Oh well, it was a great learning experience, and fun!
Love this new series of challenges! Thanks so much for coming up with them! I must backtrack and do the first one, but meanwhile here's my card for this challenge:
