WOOHOO! Sailing through our 2009 Scrappin' Goal Challenge! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in January, February, March, April, May, June & July! I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together this month!
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages last month! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
With that in mind, I thought I would invite all of you to August Scrapbook Challenge! Oh what fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends.
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for July. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for August if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund!
Money spent on Adhesive and Printing Pictures is not included in the monthly scrapping budget. We'll count pages 7x7 & up = 1 page for 1 page completed, 6x6 & smaller = 2 pages for 1 page completed.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2009 Scrapbook Challenge! Woohoo for August!! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
**To make it easier for everyone to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages, please upload your pages to SBC09AUG. **

August is *Budget Bonus* Month! Set a budget for spending and those that spend closest to their budget will be put in a drawing at the end of the month for a SCRAPPY PRIZE! Can you do it? Can you resist the scrappin' impulse buy and stick to your budget?
Scrappy Sisters,
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want extra $$ for the holidays. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. I decided it would be easier to split from the page goal posts. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal

Looking for a little momentum or challenge to get a page or two done? Always some GREAT challenges here on SCS! What a FUN Place to Play! To Make it EASY to Find them, I have posted Links to the Challenges HERE! Scrap On!
Have you ever had extra supplies that you just didn't know quite how to put them all together in a page or Layout? Well, let's have a little fun and leave the creating to a friend.....
All you need to do is sign up, be assigned a partner from the list and then put together all those odd's & end's from our stash, your friend would need to do a DPS (double page spread) in a large Zip lock bag including the 8 1/2 X 11 paper, send it to your assigned partner and then the friend puts the DPS together, adds a few finishing touches and ships it back for the photos. Then we post and share.... Sound like Fun???????? For those who do 12x12 like myself, just mount the completed pages onto coordinating 12x12 once you get them back from your friend.

I'll have to up my goal to 14 to make up for the ones I was short in Jul. Shouldn't be any problem. Yeah, right! Gina's baby is coming Aug. 6 and I'll be spending extra time with her. Where's the scrappin time?!!! At least I'll take lots of pics!

Okay I actually met and exceeded my July goal (first time this year for both!!!!) but I start a new job this month and don't know how much scrappin' I'll get done. But I do have 2 crops to attend....hmmmmm, this one is hard to guesstimate.
Put me down for 20 pages for August.I think I can, I think I can!!! :-D
I sorta sat out the month of July because I knew I wouldn't meet my goal, but I'm back for August. (I still tracked my pages, but didn't post anything here.) I figured I'd give August a go and see if it helps me create more.
Goal for August: 20 pages.
I have a coupon for a photobook I need to use by August 20th, and I'm about halfway thru scrapping my trip to Napa/Sonoma last year... and so I'm really trying hard to get it done so i can create this book before then! It's only about 40 pages left to do. LOL. But they are easy pages...
Put me down for 10 this month. I'm setting a budget of $40.00 as there are some CM items I would like to purchase. I'm doing a 15 hour crop next Saturday hopefully I can get some pages done then.
I'm in for Aug, but have to also make up for July failure. Put me down for 15. Aug for me is also busy - but I have to have several pages done before Sept, so it's a must do.
I'm back for August! My goal will be 12 pages. I will set my budget at $15, but I don't think (hope) I won't need to buy anything. I spent about $200 on a paper storage rack system in July and found a lot of stuff I didn't remember that I had. Oops! I'm just glad to be back and playing!
I had so much fun last month and you all kept me inspired and motivated! I'll go for 10 pages this month. I'd love to set my scrapbook budget for $0 because I have so much unused stuff I need to use. however, I know that won't happen because where I live we have Wal Mart to shop at for crafting supplies. I will be in San Antonio next week and I know I can't keep out of the crafting stores so I'll say $50! (If DH reads this he'll start laughing because rarely have I spent only $50 on a crafting trip to San Antionio OR he will make me stick to the $50 budget!!!)

Ok - I'm going to up my pages to 16 this month to make up for the months I didn't reach my goal. I hope to get the rest of my Disney scrapbook done this month, although I highly doubt it b/c I have so many pictures! If I do, then I'll be WAY over my goal and very happy.

My goal for this month is 10 pages with a budget of $30 because I want to order some new SU! stuff!

I'm going to set my goal for Aug to 4 with $0 spent. I kinda made up for missing May and June with the extras I did digi in July and so far this year I think I've only spent around $20 on supplies! This month I've got my DGS birthday party coming up at the end of the month and will be doing lots to prepare for it so time might be hard to come by for scrapping!
Happy B-Day (yesterday) Heather!
:-D
Hope it was fun!

*** Please reply if you want to sign up to play***. Once signed up, you will be assigned a Partner. Your partner will send her address for you to mail DPS Goodies to. Once received, put the page together and return. :-D

Thanks! I did have a good day. I even blogged it. I stopped blogging in the spring too. I may go downstairs and work some more this afternoon. I really want to get back and get some pages done.
