There is a new Disney movie on tonight so DGS is watching it since tomorrow is Saturday. I'll be sitting with the laptop and seeing what I can come up with digi wise.
Michelle, I am thinking of incorporating your challenge to use boarders. On the cruise I learned how to weave a ribbon lei. I am thinking about doing more of that ribbon weaving and using it on cards and SB pages...

Well, I ended up designing another digi card instead of a page. Put a pic of DGS in a Thomas lookalike train on it with the line, "Just Chugging by to say" and then I will stamp the inside with Happy Birthday. We have a party to go to tomorrow and this little boy LOVES Thomas so he should like this card.
Long time, no see! Glad to see some familiar faces are still on here. I'm not gonna even TRY to catch up...I'll be joining in again from here on out, though! Posting some stuff to my gallery next!

Hello Saturday! I'm so glad it's the weekend! I've had one of those weeks with a million little errands and things to get done. I'm really happy to be here thinking about stamping and scrapping. I've a few errands to run this afternoon and then I'm ready for some scrap therapy...SO ready!
Anyone else joining me this afternoon for a "session"?

Got a few done this week! One for Wendy's purse challenge, one for Patti's thursday pattern paper challenge, and a few more. I will link up the challenge ones below!
Seemed like this month's gallery got off to a bit of a slow start, but I hadn't checked back in a week or so and it exploded Great pages, ladies! I got a layout done yesterday that I need to photograph and upload, so I've hit my goal for this month...may try to squeeze in a couple more pages before April is upon us.
Hey ladies, do any of you use sketches to inspire you in scrapbooking? If so, what is your favorite book/website?? I currently have used some of Allison Davis...but have never ordered her books...

Just about all I've ever used is Becky Higgins' sketches from Creating Keepsakes; I liked her book Best of Becky Higgins Sketches (got it on Amazon). I also go through magazines and sketch out the layouts that I like, so I've got quite a binder full of sketches. That's always the first thing I turn to when I start a new layout.

Thanks Christy...I am thinking I need to start a binder! I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years but for some reason never have used sketches until recently...and it is like I have opened a whole new world! Are there any particular magazines that you like the best?

The only one I've ever subscribed to or read a lot is Creating Keepsakes, although I did quit reading it for a while when it seemed like they were only doing really complicated single-page layouts (my style is more clean lines, minimal embellishments, and almost always double-page spreads). Lately though they've had some inserts in the magazine of sketches of layouts included in the issue, which is nice...I copy those (since they're front and back) and then cut them up and add them to my sketch binder. I've got my binder sectioned off by how many pictures are used on each sketch just to make it easier for me to find things. HTH.

I couldn't function without sketches!!! Before I knew I could find sketches online, Christy S. made me a copy of her sketch binder. It was the best 'for no reason' presents I ever got :-D
I still use her binder of course, but I also use:
PageMaps.com (new sketches come out monthly and you can print them out for your binder)
getyoursketchon.blogspot.com
sketchsupport.com
gotsketch.blogspot.com
twistedsketches.com
nutsaboutsketches.blogspot.com
52sketches52weeks.com
Those are just a few of the thousands of online sites, but those are the main ones that I use. I also had a few years subscriptions to Creating Keepsakes - so I often go through those magazines and find a sketch that will suite my photos.
Hope that helps!!

Ladies, I completely poo-poohed out on you guys this month. Haven't made a single page yet! I gonna go ahead and call this month a wash. Maybe my Mojo will return in April.
Hello All!!! Finally have a moment to stop by to say I've gotten nothing finished for this month and it's not looking good for me :-( DH teaches at a College and he had break after dd2's birthday then I was swamped with my volunteer committments followed by a week of my girls off on their break...of which I was sick and we had to cut our getaway short...boo hoo hoo! Today is my first day of not being in bed but we have a GS Camporee this upcoming weekend that I need to help prep...but hopefully I can find a minute or two to at least start organizing for my crop in April! I'm going to say a big fat zero pages for March...hoping for double in April to keep me on track! :-) I hope I can get to the gallery to start leaving comments...love what I've seen so far!
Hey, just checked in here again after joining up earlier in the month. I have completely caught the scrapbooking bug, I must have done at least 15 LO's this month. Crazy! Just got to upload them to here somehow, I have got the hang of blogging via Picasa but uploading here always seems tricky!
Would someone mind telling me how to find the gallery for this month? I just love looking at other people's work, so inspiring. Thanks!
ETA: found it! And I am totally blown away by all the fab creativity. Soooo many new ideas firing round my head...

I had a great time this weekend at a a scrapbook retreat in the mountains. I didn't finish as many pages as I had hoped, but more than I've done the past three months! I also have an ache in the center of my back from sitting hunched over a table for three days, but I guess that's the price I had to pay for having a fabulous time. Now I have to find time to scan and post my layouts . . .

Sorry to hear you've been sick. I wondered what had happened to you. I kept looking for your layouts in the gallery. :( Sounds like it hasn't been a great month for you, but here's looking forward to April.

Woo Hoo Cheryl! Aren't those retreats fun?!?! I get to go on another one the weekend of the 9th...I am excited!

Rebekah, they sure are. I signed up for the one in the fall, too. It's hard to beat a weekend of uninterrupted scrapping. Well, I guess I do take some time off to eat and sleep, but not much! Heehee.
Exactly!
How do you plan for the retreats? The last one that I went on was easy because I was working on my Christmas album so I just took all Christmas embellishments and stamps and papers...this one won't be so easy...I am working on my general album which encompasses EVERYTHING...hhhmmm...and I don't want to take everything and the kitchen sink with me...

I find it so much easier when I plan out my pages before I go to a retreat. The first one I went to, I did take "the kitchen sink" and didn't use 3/4 of it. Now I plan, pick colors of CS for each page and probably what embellishments I might use on it, which DP looks best -- and now I only take "half the kitchen sink". Much easier.
I have had a good month so far, almost double my goal. But tonight I get my two grandsons (3 yrs. and 15 months) for 10 days while our DS and DDIL take a much deserved holiday (I'll probably need one when they get back, but I do this every year for them). Baby #3 is due in September so this will be good for them.

Isn't the gallery wonderful? It always inspires me to scrap Glad you are enjoying our little corner of SCS.
I always shrink my pictures in MS Paint before I upload because they can't be over a certain size.

I edit mine in Microsoft Picture Manager to shrink them down, crop, rotate, et cetera et cetera et cetera (I saw part of an animated version of The King & I on tv yesterday, can you tell?) I also put all my photos in a folder called "To Upload" so I know where to look for them when I'm uploading to my blog or the gallery here, but that's just me. I move them after they're uploaded.
Finished one more DPS today so I'm two above goal and hoping to get another DPS done before Friday!
I participated in the Thursday challenge! Woo hoo! I love me some lumpy pages! I also was big in to using some new things. I bought no need to keep it sitting there for another year longer ;)

Wow, a lot of you are getting a lot of pages done this month. I made my goal and then some! Here's a paper dps I did that covers 4 challenges, including Patti's Laugh Out Loud and Mixing Patterned Papers challenges. Also covers Michele's Borders, and Frames challenges.
