why don't you just cut the card front off, and remount it on another card going in the right direction? I have done this many times. it will work unless your matting paper is directional

I have this one and same as you, I buy blades and the cutting pad replacements. This is my favorite trimmer, but one drawback is that it is big and I don't like to take it with me when I go to crops.
