Woooo Hoooo it's Saturday, which means it's time for a new song. Is everybody ready? Here we go:
The song for this weeks challenge is: A Hero Lies In You by: Mariah Carey Listen to itHERE
Here are some of the lyrics:
There's a hero If you look inside your heart You don't have to be afraid Of what you are There's an answer If you reach into your soul And the sorrow that you know Will melt away
And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you
If you are new to the Muscical Challenge, here's how it works: Every Saturday I find someone that deserves to be honored or maybe needs their spirits lifted. I then choose a song that I feel portrays this person.
The challenge is for you to make a card inspired by the chosen song.
I will ask you to consider sending your inspired creation to the person chosen. However, if you would rather not; you do not have to. That is totally up to you.
This weeks song "A Hero Lies In You" was chosen to help a little boy celebrate his 7th birthday. His name is Benjamin
Benjamin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia pre-B cell also possitive for Philadelphia Chromosone. Benjamin is going to be celebrating his 7th birthday on December 11. I felt this young hero just can't celebrate it without us SCSrs right? So please check out Benjamin's story here. Please note there are several updates to this little boy's story. I had a hard time with this one. I kept thinking of sad songs. Until someone shared with me that Benjamin plans on getting better. He plans on walking again. He plans on beating this. Well, as sad as I still am to hear that this little boy is going through all of this, I sat back and thought about it. And after reading his story...omg..He is an upbeat kid. He is a HERO in my book. I am sure the rest of you will agree. So ladies, let's make Benjamin's 7th birthday a Hero's birthday. I know this little guy is going to love it. Oh did I mention, he likes Batman?

If you or someone you know deserves to be honored or needs their spirits lifted please send me a pm with the details. Thank you so much for joining this week's challenge and for making Benjamin's birthday a great one.

Ladies, I wanted to let y'all know that I do have a card for Benjamin. I can't get my scanner to work so I have to wait for the hubby to wake up and get it fixed. Once it's back up and running I will edit my original post and upload my card to it.
I was going to make him a batman card. Then I read he likes batman! I made my six year old a batman card for his birthday it was his favorite present. Hope a batman card will bring a smile to this little one also

Hi there Dani! Good morning! I plan to play.......will get started on my card today and if I don't get it done today, then it will be tommorrow! What a wonderful cause!
Dani, my card is posted on SCS, the envelope is ready, and, if it's not too early, I'll mail it tomorrow. (Am I supposed to wait until a bit closer to his special day?)
Wanted to stop by and truly thank all of you for doing this challenge for sweet awesome brave Benjamin! Your cards are terrific and he will love them!
As a volunteer for COLES Foundation have been following Benjamin on his caringbridge site for two years and he is truly a hero. Again thank you and God bless you!
That is very sweet that you have other folks making cards- it warms my heart! To answer the question, Benjamin DOES have a DS and he gets lots of use from it. Please extend my appreciation to all those making cards!
Sincerely,
for some reason I can't copy her name ...
I want to say Thank you to everyone that sent Benjamin a card. I am hoping his mom will take a picture of him with all of his cards so we can have a peek. I am sure because of ya'll his birthday will be a bit more special this year. Thank you again. Please keep sending those cards to Benjamin. This message is not meant to sound like the card quest for Benjamin has stopped. In fact, it will remain open even after Saturday's next challenge.
Thank you to everyone that played this challenge. And a huge thank you to those of you that made and sent your cards to Benjamin. I will be posting tomorrow challenge sometime in the afternoon, so please look for week 5 of the musical challenge. The challenge for Benjamin will be kept open so any time you want to send a card feel free to do so. Thank you again.
Thank you ladies. I know Benjamin is going to love them. Thank you to all that participated this week. The new weekly challenge has been posted. Week 5
