Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a “TEApotter” the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, sending your card to the listed guest of honor is 100% voluntary - it's not a requirement but will be very well appreciated. Just have fun!
This week's challenge hostess is: casep/Pat
CHALLENGE:
It's January, a time when many try to make a fresh start in the new year. Many are trying to get organized. My challenge is for you to use some of the card-making embellishments you have acquired. If you've been making a long time you might have eyelets, or brads, you might like to use. Or maybe it's ribbon, or washi tape, or sequins or dots. Let's use up some of our stuff to make a card to cheer Heather.
CARD TYPE/THEME: Cheerful, Hello, Hugs, Thinking of You
This week's Tea Party was requested by Jen's husband for his dear friend, Heather. "Ms. Heather" is not just a friend, but also the secretary at the Elementary School and beloved by the community. She was diagnosed with lymphoma over the summer and is currently undergoing chemo. She has a positive attitude, but it is a difficult road, so Jeffrey is hoping the Teapotters can lift her spirits. Heather loves Jack Russell Terriers (she has two - Minnow and Spinner) and working on her little family farm with her husband and two kids. The mascot of the Elementary School where she works is the "Freetown Fox".

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Send your request to Jennifrann via PM or e-mail [email protected]. Include SCS Teaparty Request in the subject line.

I haven't even had time to try to get organised!! I wish...
I used old eyelets and ribbon, and a punch which took so long to find that I wondered if I'd given it away in favour of dies. Nope, it was in the same tin as the regular circle punches. MMTPT757 Dancing in the Rain by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers
I just used up my entirety of silver heart brads when I made this card on Sunday, but maybe I can lift myself and find a way to use five more little embellishments.
I have tons of brads - all shapes, sizes, colors... etc. I love them but they mess up the mail... friends have told me the envelopes have been torn due to them, and I usually put the extra ounce postage for the added thickness... but I did use one on my card. The background with the 'circles and lines' is a technique from Natasha Foote on You Tube. So quick and easy, I've made a ton ready for cards...
Wonderful way to use up some scraps that all played well together. This got me to use some of the hundreds (thousands maybe) of sequins that have been taking up room on my desk. They are now finally put on the shelf where they belong.
I agree with Polly--we could use a challenge like this every week! At least I could, to use up paper, brads, etc. And I forgot about ribbon... Anyway, here is my card for Heather.

Got this one off in the mail last week. I used house plants instead of vegetables, which I thought would still work for the challenge. Hopefully the recipient will love it!
Ms. Heather has finished her chemo treatments and is going for scans on May 4th to see if she kicked cancer's butt. I made her this card to wish her luck. Please say a little prayer for a clean scan for her this Thursday.
P.S. All of your cards came at the right time. She got home from a hospital stay due to low white blood cells to the first of the cards and they just kept coming. In her own words: "I'm so touched by all of these cards I'm receiving. They are so beautiful and thoughtful. Even their words of hope and kindness just hit me. Thank you!!"
