It's my turn to host our Technique Challenge this second week of September. WOW! If you are like me, you are wondering where summer went! Hard to believe we are almost halfway through September next week!
Today's challenge is one everyone can do, and I am SO EXCITED to see the gallery. It's called WRAP IT AROUND. There are a lot of variations you can use and the idea is pretty basic, so hopefully it leaves the door open for anything you can think of and would like to use.
Take a wood block, or other sturdy material (heavy cardboard box, glass, spool, etc.) and wrap a textured material around it. Think beyond and outside the box of just a rubber band around a brayer (although that is perfectly acceptable too and one of my favorite looks!).
My sample uses a wood block and twine scraps. Other ideas - yarn or string, ribbon, lace, wire, rubber bands, even strips of paper. I know there will be other ideas that are wonderful!
Then use any medium you like and stamp your image. It can be a background, or your main image, or a subtle design somewhere on your project. You can use ink, paint, dye, etc. Anything goes, as long as it's been wrapped around!
Pretty simple stuff:
1) WRAP your texture around a solid base.
2) Stamp your image using any medium.
3) Show your stuff in our TLC498 GALLERY and tell us what you used!
Judy, this was fun!! Here's my card. Here's a picture of the packing foam I used.

Bummer - I got a stinking headache not long before I left work. No stamping this afternoon :-(, but I really want to try this (have an idea) so I'm aiming to combine with the TPT tomorrow.
Sabrina, sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Praying that you'll feel better soon. I had that headache Saturday and Sunday. Yuck!

Judy- awesome challenge, thanks! I thought this technique lent itself to a relaxing bath image "to unwind"- here's my card- Unwind with a Bath, using SU's Bubble Queen

This was fun. I used twine, but I think it was less refined than the stuff Judy used and I got a different look. This would make a good masculine card in a different color of ink. Here's my card.
