Hi,
Does anyone know how to put glitter around a die-cut so it looks nice and straight and uniform. I put a link below for an example. Thank you to all who can help! The Ink Trap: Release Day at Kraftn' Kimmie Stamps!
You know, I personally have about given up on loose glitter. I've tried all kinds of glues and methods, and none of them work very well. The glitter just doesn't stick. and it's difficult to apply the glue exactly where I want it.
It looks to me like maybe that card was done with a line of Stickles all around the edge. Don't know if you are familiar with Stickles, but they come in a tiny bottle with a very fine tip, so you can apply very fine lines of glitter if you want.
I mostly use the neutral colors, like Diamond, Crystal, or Stardust. They work beautifully and add sparkle where I want it with no mess. The neutral colors will pick up whatever color cardstock or colored image you apply them on, so I don't bother with getting other colors.

Thanks Bugga,
I kind of thought it might be stickles too, so I went out and got a bottle earlier today. It seemed to work pretty well so I will just do this for now.
Thank you for the reply
I looks like stickles or a similar product to me. The trick with loose glitter, is the glue and the glitter itself, I love the Art Institute's Glitter glue
I agree that this looks like a stickles type product. They may also have masked off the center with a smaller circle to keep the borders nice and straight.
One thing that may work for loose glitter, is an adaptation of something I remember reading for using a gold leafing pen & getting an even line all around. Cut a slit into the nib of the glue pen, then slot the card into the slit, dragging it through until you've gone all the way round. The slit in the nib doesn't affect how the pen works. Then sprinkle with Ultra fine glitter- the Art Institute one recommended is excellent. Have you seen the new Tim Holtz Distress Glitters?
Hi Holly! How are you doing This is Cheryl from The Ink Trap. I LOVE the look of glitter and have fun messing around with it in all forms. For edging my die cuts, I like the ease and control of Stickles glitter glue. On this particular card, I used a sponge applicator to apply Pumice Stone Distress Ink around the rim and followed that with a line of Diamond Stickles glitter glue. It's my favorite at the moment, but as someone mentioned earlier, Crystal and Stardust are fabulous, as well.
Hope you're having fun with glitter and thanks so much for visiting my blog
I use a glue marker pen and trace around the edge. Then I sprinkle the glitter. Using an anti-static bag or a used dryer sheet helps to keep static electricity from attracting glitter to the rest of the paper. I can't get an even effect with Stickles. I actually find it harder to use for this than loose glitter.
If I need edges covered in glitter, be they straight or curved edges, I lay down 1/8" double sided tape and add glitter onto the top of the tape. I then burnish the glitter onto the tape to ensure it doesn't comes off. Guarantees an even edge of glitter.
