I was wondering if anyone new if it was safe to attach paper to water bottles with mod podge? Please help! Shower is tommorow and they are already made.

I doubt that it would seep through the plastic. I think it's pretty benign stuff, kind of like white glue. What does the bottle say?

I think you'd be fine to modge podge on the plastic waterbottle...

anyone got any tips for modge podging photographs? Can I modge podge a picture or do I have to copy it onto paper first?

Thanks in advance!

I've used modge podged a picture before (several times) and it dries well and looks fine.

I'm not sure that it would "weather" well. Since you squeeze water bottles, I think (although I have no real personal experience) that over time, the mod podge would crack and let moisture get under it, runing the paper image below. Just my 2 cents.

Surprizingly, the bottle, nor the website, talk about it.

I didn't mean that the water would seep through the bottle. If the mod podge cracked, and you got water on the outside (which I always do when I fill up my water bottle anyway), the water on the outside would get into the cracks of the mod podge, getting onto the photo. It's just a thought though...I have no real experience with it.

Sorry. I agree with you on that. I actually just used it like glue to seal the paper to the bottle. My concern was not the paper getting wet, but the mod podge effecting the water inside. Sounds silly to think it might go through plastic I know, but with 2 pregnant women at the shower, I wanted to be sure.

I've used mod podge to attach paper to a plastic coffee can. It doesn't adhere to the plastic very well. It's okay if you are wrapping it around and attaching the paper to itself. But, it doesn't make things stick to the plastic itself. I think there are other adhesives that are better for plastics.

I don't think there's any way the modpodge on the outside of the bottle can affect the water on the inside of the bottle. I'd think this would be perfectly safe as long as it's not on the neck of the bottle where people's lips would come in contact with it as they're drinking.
