Default Name of technique???

I saw this awesome card at a scrapbook store.

All the salesclerk could tell me was that "it was a class about 5 years ago."...sighhhhhh.

It was a piece of designer paper, folded to look like vertical blinds. I am thinking it for sure used a scor pal or the like...it was quite a stunning effect!!!

Has anyone seen this type technique, and does anyone know what it is?

Sorry I did not get a photo...didn't think of it, and they probably would not have let me take a picture anyhow...lol.

Thanks!

I'm thinking it's actually call the Venetian Blind technique.

Take a look at these:

Venetian Blinds Closed by ErinRN2002 at Splitcoaststampers
Venetian Blinds Open by ErinRN2002 at Splitcoaststampers

Does that help?

Here is a card done by Melissa from the Rubber Cafe a while back...very easy to make. She used vellum and scored every half inch...then added a few holes and slid the chain through.

Thanks so much Lindylou for posting this answer to teenastamps question. I love your venetian blind card and have visited the site you gave the link to and copied the directions! You should post this technique as its own thread.

Well, these are two of the cutest cards ever, but that's not quite what I saw....but I will be trying those...thanks!

The one I saw did not have a ribbon, it was just glued to the paper, and the folds were up and down, not sideways...

Thanks for any more help and thanks for the help given already!

This is it! LOL.

The card I saw was like the green part of this on the bottom, but was a larger (taller) piece of paper, used as the background of the card...

wooHOO...y'all still helped me figure this out...and there are pleated flowers out there too...

Guess I need to start looking at the challenges...

Thanks!!!

Oh...and for anyone wondering, I did see on a blog someplace that someone using a scor pal scored at 1" and then at 1/2" and then did the folding...hope that helps...
