Default Prismacolor question

I just bought some prismas. I only bought the 12 pack. Has anyone used the blender pencil they make? I bought a pack of 2. I cannot use gamsol right now. I was just wondering if anyone has compared an image blended with the pencils versus images blended with gamsol. The pencils are clear blender pencils also made by the prisma people. I bought them all at AC Moore.
Thanks in advance!
Pia

I have used my blender pen, it is a completely look than the gamasol. It blended all the "stroke" lines away on a solid object I was coloring. Different look but it is useful.

you can also try using a bit of baby oil. Several folks that can not Gamsol have tried it and said they like it and it works just fine!

Remember to use is sparingly!

I cannot compare because I haven't used the Gamosol. I have been using the blender pencils to blend for years. They key is using a light touch when you apply the color. Think of it as with painting, several light coats are better than one thick coat.

Okay I will try a light touch. I went a little too heavy this afternoon. At least I was coloring a brown bunny! Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

I use the blender pencil quite a lot and like it. It's better, IMO, in smaller spaces. I find the Gamsol needs a larger area to work really well. Last week I got a blender pen in the art section of HL that has 2 tips and is specially made to break down the wax in colored pencils. It works great; and is a lot less hassle than getting out the Gamsol and stumps. It was only about 3 or 4dollars...what a deal!

I will look for that. I found the blender pencil right near the pencils. My husband was not too thrilled when I mentioned gamsol/aka mineral spirits. He likes the pencil. I do like the results!
