Rub Ons on the glass ornaments: HOW?

What is the trick to (successfully) applying rub ons to the glass ornaments with glitter inside?

I've tried without success. They do not want to stick no matter how much I rub. I rubbed so hard that one of these shattered in my hand. I wasn't hurt but had a HUGE mess to clean up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

do you mean to say you were trying to apply the rub-ons on the inside or on the outside? If I am not wrong, it will work if your glass surface on the outside (without glitter) is very clean (no finger grease etc). You could try to prepare the surface by wiping it with a little rubbing alcohol to remove all traces of grease and dust. The rub-ons should stay easily.

Thank you for your suggestion. I BET they need to be cleaned. I'm trying to apply the rub ons to the exterior of my glittered ornaments. I purchased all the ornaments WELL more than a year ago, and they've remained in their original packaging from Michael's (nearly all plastic, and in the garage which is like an oven in the summer, meaning plenty of out-gasing from the plastic). I won't have time to try again until after this weekend. I'll let you know. But I BETCHA that's the problem, because these were not sticking for anybody or anything!

How old are the rubons? I've read you can heat the rubons a little bit with a hair dryer or heat tool and that can help them stick.
