Default Seeking help with embossing w/ clear stamps

I love clear stamps, but am not getting the effect I'd like for embossing with pigment inks. The stamps don't seem to hold enough ink to hold enough embossing powder for a nice opaque image. I'm stamping/embossing a white image on red paper.

I'm using white SU craft ink with white embossing powder. I'm also stamping the image with the paper on a mouse pad for extra cushion.

Any hints?

Thank you!

I haven't had much luck with embossing with pigment inks. I like the results that I get with my versamark ink. I have embossed with clear stamps with the versamark ink and don't see much of a difference from other stamps. Hope that helps.

Is the ink beading up on the clear stamp when you ink the stamp?

I was told by a manufacturer in the UK that GENTLY "sanding" the stamp with an emery board (the kind we use for fingernails) will take just the shininess off and then the ink will hold better.

I do this to all my clear stamps, especially the solid images. I rub GENTLY just until it looks dull or cloudy, then I wipe off the stamp with a damp paper towel so the "grit" is removed and then I ink the stamp.

It works very well for me.

Maybe this will help?

Thank you. I think versamark is the way to go.
