Well I got so darn excited about doing the slit punch perfectly I made these last night. I actually made 11 of the invites!!!
Thanks so much Julie I feel freedom from the limits of the slit punch now!!!
I will be showing this at stamp camp on Sunday.
WOW !! Too funny after I bumped the thread, I was thinking that everyone else had probably saw Julies awesome post and would be wondering why in the world I would bump something so old LOL..Well because Julie ROCKS!!
I just remembered that I had downloaded a template made by Robin Mower for the slit punch awhile back. I will try to attach it here for everyone while we're on the subject.
I can't get this to open, no matter how hard I try... Could someone please give me a link that will work for me? Thanks! I thought I was the only slit punch impaired person alive! I feel so much better now. ~Lois
I've read a number of tips in various SplitCoastStampers forums on how to open up some of the .pdf files that don't seem to want to open ...
If you right-click on the link in the post, and choose the "save target as" option. Save it to your computer, like on your desktop or in a folder that you want to keep your templates in. Remember where you saved it, then try opening it up from your computer.
You need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view the documents (any .pdf file). If you don't have the reader on your PC, you can go to www.adobe.com and download it.
Hope this helps all of you who are having trouble viewing these files.

I just found this -- thank you, thank you, thank you! I wish I had this a few weeks ago, but I have it now and I am really looking forward to using my slit punch now!
Julie, you have gone and done it again....THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, from the bottom of my little stampin' heart. You have saved me endless hours of frustration and stomping my feet. My hubby thanks you too.
Just wanted to say that your tip works pretty slick! Wanted to bump this back to the top incase anyone else is feeling "slit punch impaired" today! Thanks for the great tip...it never ceases to amaze me what I learn on here;)

thanks Jami....
If you would have seen what I did for my gift card cards....this will save me time!!
I received this punch as a prize at one of the workshops I attended months ago. I couldnt figure out this thing for the life of me lol. I kept on getting a half circle that was attached then the punch would get stuck to the CS lol..
That's difficult . . . have you talked with a doctor?
I had this problem for a while . . . I realize everybody's situation is different? At least with my inability to sleep, I recognized after a while I was suffering from clinical depression--it's hereditary in my family, among the women. And, I knew what to look for after enduring 2 years of my mother being very ill, until we finally were able to get help and found out what was wrong. :(
Once I was properly diagnosed, and put on an exceedingly low dose of Zoloft, no more problems.
But, of course, that may not be what's causing your lack of sleep at all . . .
I can certainly sympathize, tho. It was very frustrating for me.

Thank you, Julie. I too was having a duh moment until I saw the pictures. Thank you, Thank you. This punch is on my wishlist. Now if I could only figure out what to do with the horizontal slot punch I'd be in great shape.
(We're almost neighbors.... I'm just down the sound from you)

Hello I was not able to open it. I have adobe installed. Help please!! Thanks
Ok, I'm a TAC demo but I bought this slit punch. I loved the ideas used with it in the SU catty. Anyway, here's my first attempt at using it this weekend and the tips on this thread made it easier! I just placed my stamped cardstock on the back of the mat, drew a pencil line down each side, and used that to line up the little notch on each side of the punch, and wa-la! Perfect fit! And since the pencil lines are on the back of the piece I'm taping down, don't have to erase them. Also, I didn't try to put them straight across from each other - less stress trying to make sure they're lined up perfectly.
Thanks so much Julie!! I knew there was a reason you were HRR! I have ruined a few cards trying to figure out how to make this thing work.
Thanks for the photos, they really helped.

I am so appreciative of people like you, Julie, who take the time to figure these things out and then share it with the rest of us. I have had my slit punch for quite some time and love using it, but now I'll have an easier method for lining it up correctly every time!
Hi Julie!
What a great help! Thanks!
BTW, it was great fun going to Regionals with you and Ellen and your cousin is an awesome hostess. Loved spending time with you all!
Taresa
A huge THANK YOU for these tips. I saw them about a week ago and had intended to use my new slit punch at a workshop and your tips were just the help I needed. I love punches and this one will be put to good use a lot!
Well I have to bump it again, for all those still out there that have not yet seen this. Tonight is the first night I actually tried this. It took a few minutes sitting here, reading it again and looking at the pictures with my card in my hand. But then, "ding" the light came on. I knew I was going to love this punch!
Thanks again,
