Any idea what this is?

Volunteering at my local thrift store, I found this Creative Memories tool. I can't figure it out! It's 8" long with 1/8-inch marks on one side and loopy monofilament line on the other side. It has a case to store it in. My mind is spinning, but I can't imagine what it's intended use might be. I'm betting someone on here will know! TIA

I didn't know but I found out through a Google search, it is a Journaltopia Writing Guide Tool.

Found it on ebay - it's apparently called a "Journaltopia" and is supposed to act as a guide for getting straight lines when hand journaling.
